The study aimed at finding out the level of Mathematics self-efficacy and its relationship with the Mathematics performance of tenth-grade students. The study used a quantitative method. The data was collected from one middle secondary school and three central schools under the Pemagatshel district from 3 March to 16 March 2020. A total of 300 students comprising 150 males and females each were included for the study. The data was collected using Mathematics Self-Efficacy Scales and analyzed using SPSS. The overall finding indicated that students had an average level of Mathematics self-efficacy (M=3.25; SD= 0.60). Among the four sources of self-efficacy, the study revealed that the students had high Mathematics self-efficacy in vicarious experience (M= 3.67; SD= 0.62). The Pearson correlation indicated a moderate positive correlation (r= .467, P=.05) between Mathematics self-efficacy and Mathematics performance. Higher the Mathematics self-efficacy, better the Mathematics performan...
The Relationship between Self-efficacy and Achievement In Mathematics among Secondary Students
International Seminar on Education for all - Issues, Challenges and Perspectives, 2017
Study of Mathematics at secondary level is the foundation stage of Higher Education. Every secondary school students should study mathematics as a compulsory subject so that he/she gains a basic quantum of Mathematical knowledge as a part of general education. In our society there exists a general belief that mathematics is a subject for boys. Even today a very few people encourage girl students to opt for this subject. In the present study data have been collected from secondary students through questionnaire and their self efficacy have been compared. The objective of the present study is to determine the relationship between Self-efficacy in mathematics and Achievement in Mathematics in M.P. The sample consisted of 428 students, both boys and girls of just passed out Class X, selected from 12 schools from the district South 24 Paraganas of West Bengal. The tools used were " Mathematics Self Efficacy Questionnaire " adapted from Mathematics Self Efficacy and Anxiety Questionnaire (MSEAQ), (May, 2009). The results show that the self efficacy differs among students with different Streams and gender. In particular, the higher score in mathematics in M.P students, the better is their self efficacy. Thus, self efficacy in mathematics may be regarded as a factor in the acquisition of mathematical skill.

This study examined the relationship between Mathematics Self-Efficacy and achievement in Mathematics. Three hundred and fifty-two (352) Senior Secondary 2 students in Oyo State were used for the study. Three hypotheses were used. The results show no significant difference between male and female achievement in Mathematics. Also, no significant difference was also obtained between male and female Mathematics Self-Efficacy and Mathematics achievement. The paper recommend that teacher should find ways of enhancing Mathematics Self-Efficacy in student and should place emphasis on student's confidence to succeed in Mathematics achievement.
Mathematics' Self-Efficacy and Peer Relation as a Predictor of Mathematics Achievement
2015
Well-educated human resources will enable them to have the necessary competence to compete in this modern world since education and achievement remain an important standard for knowing their resourceness. This research is based on less number of Mathematics achievements of Senior High School Students in Indonesia. At the same time, mathematics is important subject in the development of communication and information technology. Therefore, this research aims to analyze and investigate Mathematics achievement on Senior High School students, which are observed based on Mathematics self-efficacy and peer relationship. This research is conducted by employing quantitative approach with regression analysis. Subjects used in this research are 143 students of Senior High School in Surakarta, who are measured for their Mathematics achievements by using cognitive final marks on report of odd semester of academic year 2013/2014. The variables of Mathematics selfefficacy and peer relationship are...

The Role of Self-Efficacy and Mathematics ability in the Problem Solving Mathematics
Proceedings of the International Conference on Educational Sciences and Teacher Profession (ICETeP 2018), 2019
The problem solving skills are part of learning mathematics and an important component of 21st century education. But students often experience success doing it. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mathematical abilities, self-efficacy and problem solving abilities. This is a result of low mathematical abilities and self-efficacy. The research was a survey. Samples were randomly selected as many as 135 students from whole high school students in the Kota Bengkulu. The research instruments were a self-efficacy questionnaire, a mathematical ability test and a mathematical problem solving test. Data was analyzed using structural equation modeling. We used LISREL 8.8 to test the structural model. The results, there is a positive direct effect of mathematics ability on problem solving abilities; there is a positive direct effect of self-efficacy on problem solving abilities, and there is a positive direct effect of mathematics ability on self-efficacy.

This study was designed to identify students' mathematics self-efficacy and mathematics anxiety levels at the Pan-Asia International School (PAIS) in Thailand and to determine if there was a significant difference among students' mathematics self-efficacy and mathematics anxiety levels according to gender and the grade level, and further aimed out to find if relationship between their mathematics self-efficacy and the mathematics anxiety was statistically significant. The study focused on ninety-four Grade 6-8 students at PAIS in the academic year 2017-2018. The researcher used the Mathematics Self-Efficacy and Anxiety Questionnaire (MSEAQ) to identify their levels of mathematics self-efficacy and anxiety and data organized according to gender and grade levels of students. The data collected from the questionnaire were analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics as frequency tables, mean and standard deviations, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA test, and Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficient. The results of this study showed that the level of students' mathematics self-efficacy and anxiety were moderate and there was no significant difference neither between the males and females nor among the grade levels of students' v mathematics self-efficacy and anxiety. In terms of the association between mathematics selfefficacy and mathematics anxiety, the current study revealed a very significant and a strong relationship based on the Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficient. Based on the findings, recommendations for students, teachers, administrators and future researchers are addressed.
This study examines the relationship between gender, age, general mental ability, anxiety, mathematics self-efficacy and achievement in mathematics among senior secondary school students in Oyo State, Nigeria. Using multiple regression (stepwise) statistical procedures on the data collected from 1,099 SS2 students, results reveal that mathematics self-efficacy, gender and anxiety have significant correlations with student's achievement in mathematics. Mathematics self-efficacy is the best predictor of mathematics achievement followed by gender and anxiety. The need for educational stakeholders and curriculum planners to design programmes that will enhance mathematics self-efficacy of students was discussed.

Keywords The relations between self-efficacy and mathematics achievement were examined in this study. The research was carried out with 350 (51% male and 49% female) 7 th grade students who are in different schools in the centre of Konya. Sources of mathematics self-efficacy scale was used to determine the self-efficacy sources of students and end-of-term mathematics grades were used to determine their mathematics achievement. Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis were used in the analysis of the data. According to the results, there are high and medium-level significant relations between mathematics self-efficacy sources and mathematics achievement. The order of importance of self-efficacy sources on mathematics achievement is as follows: personal experiences, social persuasions, physiological states and vicarious experiences. Personal experiences, social persuasions and physiological states are significant predictors of mathematics ...
