Since the ancient time, plant species have been used as the source of phytomedicine by the human beings. Plants are the richest source of medicine due to the presence of biochemical, which are useful to cure the various diseases. The present paper provides the information on the phytoremedies practiced by the Hakim, Vaidh and Local people of interior area of Aligarh district, U.P., India. During the floristic survey for collection the ethnomedicinal informations, 61 plant species belonging to 35 Families, 57 Genera were found to be used to cure various common diseases like amoebiosis, bronchitis, cold & cough, diarrhoea, dysentery etc.
Studies on Some Medicinal Plants Used by Rural People in Jhansi District, U.P. INDIA
The purpose of this study was to investigate the wealth of medicinal plants used by rural people of Jhansi District in UP India. The present study has resulted in the documentation of 43 species of ethno medicinal plants distributed in 40 genera belonging to 33 families. The ethno medicinal use of plant species was documented in the study area for the treatment of human diseases. The present study reveals that the Jhansi district is rich in herbal medicine with diversified value. The rural people of region have rich knowledge on the use of medicinal plants.
Medicinal plants are associated with the local heritage all over the World. These plants are used as traditional medicines for human healthcare. This practice is very common among the local peoples of Bangaon Subdivision,North 24 Paraganas District of West Bengal.Ethno-botanical study as well as taxonomic documentation of medicinal plants now a days are very important tool for the protection of intellectual property right (IPR).In this field survey, information was collected from traditional practitioners of that area and documentation was made from this. It is found that 31 plants belonging to 26 families and their herbal preparation are used as potent medicine to treat various disease and disorders of common peoples.
TRADITIONAL MEDICINAL PLANTS USED BY LOCAL PEOPLE OF MURSHIDABAD DISTRICT, WEST BENGAL, INDIA
Traditional medicinal system such as Unani, Ayurveda and Siddha played an important role for various aliments of rural people in India. A major part of the total population in our countries still uses traditional folk medicine obtained from plant resources. Drugs obtained from plant are believed to be much safer and exhibit a remarkable efficacy in the treatment of various aliments. The state West Bengal shows rich diversity in medicinal plants in which the rural Murshidabad district is an important source of traditional medicinal plants. An ethno-medicinal study was undertaken in different villages of various blocks in this district and data were obtained from tribal people, Vaidyas, Ojhas, local herbal drug sellers. There are 52 species of medicinal plants belongs to 39 families, 51 genera for the treatment of different diseases. To cure various diseases local traditional healers were using leaves most commonly followed by roots tuber, bark, whole plant, latex, fruits and seeds. The plants were used for skin diseases, wound healing, eye infection, migraine, could and cough, throat infection, fever, digestive problem , diarrhea, dysentery, piles, hypertension, heart weakness, diabetes, sexual diseases, anemia, jaundice, intestinal worms, tooth ache, hair fall and dandruff, muscular-joint pain, bone fracture and notably one for kidney and gall bladder stone.

The ethnobotanical survey was conducted to collect information about medicinal plants used traditionally for the treatment of various diseases. Various medicinal plants were collected from the Moolika vanam which is under the maintenance of Department of Medicinal Plants board that is located in Aziz Nagar, Hyderabad district, Telangana state. Traditional uses of 20 plant species spread over 12 families are described under this study. The medicinal plants are arranged by Scientific name, Common name, Family name, Plant parts used and Therapeutic uses. The plants documented in this survey belong to the families such Acanthaceae, Annonaceae, Burseraceare, Combertaceae, Fabaceae, Longaniaceae, Lamiaceae, Malvaceae, Poaceae, Solanaceae, Lythraceae, Scruphulariaceae. Present Ethonobotanical survey revealed that the medicinal plants still play a vital role in the primary health care of the people. The traditional Medicinal Plants knowledge is very much necessary for the today’s generation as to correctly identify and use the plant knowledge correctly for mankind. Introduction Ethno-botany deals with the studies among the tribal and rural people for recording their unique knowledge about plant wealth and search of the new sources of herbal drugs, edible plants and other aspect of plants. The term “Ethnobotany” was first used by American Botanist John William Harsberger in 1895 to describe the study of people’s use of plants, including medicinal plants. Use of plants to cure specific ailments is an age old practice in our country. It is considered as an indigenous systemand has been documented in Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and other type of therapies, but during the last century there has been a rapid extension of allopathic medicinal treatment in India and presently it has become one of the most prevalent systems of medicine in the modern society.
A study on traditional medicinal plants of Uthapuram, Madurai District, Tamilnadu, South India.

Objective: To record the medicinal plants of Uthapuram Village, Madurai district, Tamilnadu, South India for the first time and the usage of these medicinal plants to remediate the diseases among the peoples. Methods: Explorative field trips were made to the village for about twelve months from April 2012 to May 2013 to survey the medicinal plants and collect the information from the villagers. Results: From this study 52 species of valuable medicinal plants belonging to 36 families were recorded and their ethnomedicinal values were collected from the village peoples. Conclusion: This study focuses the importance, utilization and conservation of the medicinal plants among the people.
This study and survey was aimed to find out the ethno-medicinal plants of Ghatal Block of West Midnapur District, West Bengal, India, which are used to treat the various diseases and disorders. In the present study, 21 medicinal plants belonging to 19 families used as ethno-medicines have been identified. According to this study, identification of the ethno-medicinal plants and associated indigenous knowledge can be used for conservation and sustainable use of medicinal plants in the area and for effective medicinal uses of human beings.
Ethnobotanical survey of common medicinal plants in Bhiwani, Haryana, India
The present study reveals the ethnobotany and traditional medicinal uses of common medicinal plants of district Bhiwani, Haryana (India) from August 2014 to December 2014. During the survey, 25 villages were visited and 100 people from each village were interviewed. The medicinal plants and their local medicinal uses were documented on the basis of survey. 60 plant species belonging to 36 families were reported which are used by the local inhabitants to cure various ailments like Asthma, urinary disorders, cough and cold, fever, skin diseases and tumor etc. Apocynaceae and Solanaceae families were found to dominate having 5 taxa each followed by Moraceae with 4 taxa, Convolvulaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Malvaceae with 3 taxa each, Amaranthaceae, Caesalpiniaceae, Mimosaceae, Myrtaceae, Poaceae, Polygonaceae, Rutaceae with 2 taxa each and rest of the families having one taxa each. For each plant species necessary informations like botanical name, family of plant species, local name, plant part used and medicinal uses are given.
Ethno-medicinal survey of some plants from villages of Khatav Tahashil (M.S.) India
India is rich in biodiversity and considered to be a storehouse of medicinal plants. Local herbal healers (Vaidu) does not share their experiences with others, hence this valuable knowledge is eroding gradually under trends of modernization and due to rapid socioeconomic changes. A periodic survey was carried out with villagers of Dharpudi, and adjoining villages to record medicinal utilities of plants. These places belong to Khatav tahsil (District Satara). The rural people from this region use various plants to treat different ailments and diseases. Total 52 plants were identified and enlisted for their medicinal values to cure diseases like gynecological problems, asthma, cold, cough, dysentery, jaundice, piles, and skin diseases.Plants mostly used by local knowledgeable persons for medicinal purposes are Acacia nilotica (L.) Willd., Aegle marmelos (L.) Corr., Argemone Mexicana Linn., Boerhavia diffusa Linn., Caralluma adscendens var. fimbriata (Wall.) Grav. & Mayur, Chrozophora rottleri (Geis.) Juss, Citrulus colocynthis (L.) Schrad., Datura metel Linn., Ficus religiosa Linn., Glossocardia bosvallea (L. f.) DC., Macrotyloma uniflora (Lam.) Verdc., Nyctanthes arbor-tristis Linn., Sesamum laciniatum Klein ex Willd., Vernonia anthelmintica (L.) Willd., Withania somnifera (L.) Dunal.
