Global Leadership Perspectives: Insights and Analysis Simon Western & Éric-Jean Garcia, 2017

Abstract

This chapter explores leadership in India, a country characterised by its complex cultural ethos, apparent contradictions and multitude of problems including sharp inequalities. More specifically, we will focus on the relationship between a few prominent features of the Indian socio-cultural history and leadership in organizations 1 . The content of this chapter reflects our experiences as researchers, consultants, trainers and, in some cases, as board members of Indians organizations with nearly a hundred of CEOs and thousands of managers at senior and top management levels.
