Assessing knowledge management with fuzzy logic (original) (raw)
2004, Practical Aspects of Knowledge …
The role of knowledge management as the key source for competitive advantage in our organizations has become a hotly debated topic. Indeed, it is a core competency for creating competitive advantage. In this environment that knowledge management is vital, therefore, at first we should determine knowledge management situation, and then to achieve a desired point, formulate a knowledge management strategy. In this paper we are going to explain a model for assessment knowledge management along with a fuzzy logic methodology. Knowledge management is a multidimensional concept and a vague notion. For this reason, fuzzy logic and a knowledge-based methodology for the measurement and assessment of knowledge management in Iranian television manufacturers were used. At first, we explain knowledge management components (Strategic Alignment, People, Process and Technology). In the next step from the knowledge that is presented via IF {Fuzzy antecedents} THEN {Fuzzy consequents} rules, to assess knowledge management in Iranian television manufacturers was used.

Developing Metrics for Determining Knowledge Management Success: A Fuzzy Logic Approach
2005
Senior management may feel that knowledge management is an enigma. Part of the problem has dealt with finding ways to better measure the success of the knowledge management initiatives in the organization. As we are dealing with intangible assets, management may have some difficulty in determining why they should invest money in knowledge management versus putting the dollars towards more tangible projects. This paper discusses this perception through the use of applying fuzzy logic for developing metrics for determining knowledge management success.
Decision Support Method in the Assessment of Nuclear Knowledge Management using Fuzzy Logic
Brazilian Journal of Radiation Sciences
The knowledge of workers constitute as valuable resources, as they enable organizations to perform their functions successfully. However, there are conditions that favor the loss of this knowledge in organizations, as for example, the natural aging of workers and consequently the retirement and staff turnover. Then, it becomes important for organization to seek the preservation these knowledge. For a successful implementation of Knowledge Management (KM), it is important to identify the barriers or critical factors that affect the success of the KM process. From the perspective of the nuclear organizations, no systematic framework exists on characterizing a set of critical success factors (CSFs) for implementing KM. Furthermore, the CSFs assessment deals with uncertainty and imprecision of human judgments. In this context, this paper presents a decision support method using CSFs and logic fuzzy to assess the KM in nuclear organizations. Fuzzy theory is essentially used in mapping q...
