This paper explores the optimal joint measurements of noncommuting observables on a single quantum system through measurements of commuting self-adjoint operators on cloned quantum systems. It examines finite and infinite dimensional Hilbert spaces, identifying that universally covariant cloning is not ideal for joint measurements and necessitating a suitably non-universally covariant cloning approach. The study highlights the need for customized cloning strategies depending on desired measurements, showing experimental feasibility particularly in infinite dimensional scenarios.
