The question of how to learn entrepreneurial and enterprising behavior has recently became one of the core questions in entrepreneurship education. Our approach to entrepreneurial and enterprising learning allows us investigate "how the cognitive, conative and affective self-regulating abilities interplay in entrepreneurial and enterprising learning process?" To contribute to this stream of research this paper adopts the three-partite constructs of the personality and intelligence originally introduced by Snow, Corno and Jackson (1996) and further applied to entrepreneurship education by Ruohotie and Koiranen (2000). Metacognition as a concept has been thoroughly studied and its eect on learning is well demonstrated. Moreover, scholars nd that it represents the entrepreneurial approach to thinking and has the propensity to aect selecting an entrepreneurial career. Hence, entrepreneurship education, still the subject of discussions about its aims methods and outcomes, has not taken any visible advantage of this powerful concept, and no specic advice for educators has been delivered. To rectify this deciency, the aim of the current research is to propose how entrepreneurship education can be developed to increase metacognitive abilities in students. Individual dierences in student metacognition are therefore studied, and the strongest and weakest aspects are identied using quantitative and qualitative research methods. Based on the theoretical framework of the conceptualisation of metacognitive abilities as well as empirical evidence, the article contributes to a better understanding of the connections between metacognition and educational settings. e article provides a practical holistic proposal for how metacognitive abilities can be developed systematically through entrepreneurship courses. The context of this research is based on the European reference framework, which presented ‘Entrepreneurship and a sense of initiative’ as one of eight key competences for lifelong learning that citizens require in a knowledge-based society. The key competence ‘sense of initiative and entrepreneurship’ is defined as “an individual’s ability to turn ideas into action. It includes creativity, innovation and risk-taking, as well as the ability to plan and manage projects in order to achieve objectives” (EU, 2013, p.8). This article presents the results of a pilot research how the entrepreneurship is perceived by the participants of entrepreneurship courses. Also we have researched their previous (entrepreneurial) background and its relevance on enabling market entrance. We had two target groups: self financed students of Open University and participants in entrepreneurship course financed by European Social Foundation. �ifelong learning is a socio-personal process as we associate our thoughts and actions to our earlier experiences but on the same time revising that experience. The aim of this article is to explore how to teach entrepreneurship in lifelong learning process and to explore it in participants' perspective. In empirical part authors used questionnaire with 77 statements with persons being admitted to some entrepreneurship courses. The respondents were asked to express their opinion on a five-point �ikert scale. The data has been discussed in the context of the related literature. As previously stated by numerous researchers, there is no consensus regarding what entrepreneurship is. As a consequence, how could there be a consensus regarding what entrepreneurship stands for as a teaching subject? In this context, the objective of this paper is to address some key issues in entrepreneurship education by focussing on different types of learning processes, highlighting particularly three main and distinct economic and social objectives: training entrepreneurs or professionals in the field (skills), preparing entrepreneurial individuals (mindset) and educating entrepreneurship professors and researchers (theories).
Improving Entrepreneurial Education through Self-Regulatory Skills

A mixed methods study investigated the role of self-regulation in entrepreneurial decision-making, including the significance of learning in relation to those processes. Findings from survey data measuring three existing self-regulatory constructs—regulatory pride, entrepreneurial self-efficacy, and metacognitive aware - ness—suggest that entrepreneurs are distinguished from other managers by a distinctive pattern of self-regulation. Prior studies suggest that such a pattern of self-regulation is strongly related to effective use of intuition, heuristics, and learning processes. Fur - thermore, when analysed in combination with interview data, the results suggest a strong relationship between self-regulation and prior learning experiences in decision-making. An increasing number of universities are incorporating compulsory entrepreneurship subjects into their degrees in an attempt to develop the entrepreneurial mindset of students. Previous studies have found that the main reasons for the entrepreneurial intention of students after having received training in entrepreneurship, are fear of failure, perceived self-efficacy, family entrepreneurial background and gender. This study examines the role of the student approach to learning (SAL) on their entrepreneurial intention. Based on the SAL theory, the study shows that a deep learning approach explains students' entrepreneurial intentions after having taken the course, and that fear of failure, perceived self-efficacy, family entrepreneurial background lack explanatory value. What role if any do educators have to play in developing entrepreneurship? The recent report from the EU (2006) on entrepreneurship in Higher Education highlights the importance of education in the promotion of more entrepreneurial attitudes and behaviours and refers to the challenge of stimulating entrepreneurial mindsets in young people. In particular it notes that at third level the primary purpose of entrepreneurship education should be to develop entrepreneurial capacities and mindsets and advocates an action learning approach. The report (2006) emphasises the need to use experience based teaching methods in order develop entrepreneurial thinking and states explicitly that “traditional educational methods (like lectures) do not correlate well with the development of entrepreneurial thinking”.
