Due to the rapid production of number of vehicles, traffic problems are bound to exist. The number of vehicles has been increasing on a daily basis, which adds to the parking constraints at public places. The proposed system, "Smart Parking System" is designed to alleviate the current problems. With the implementation of the smart parking system, user can easily locate and reserve a vacant parking space at any car parking area which is convenient to them. Checking in and checking out of vehicles is also made easier and more convenient to the drivers with the help of Node MCU (ESP8266) and Ultrasonic sensor. In today's world, smart cities have become very popular. The evolution of Internet of Things has made it possible to achieve smart parking system. Problems such as, traffic congestion, limited car parking facilities and road safety are being addressed by IoT. In case the parking is not available in the desired location, the proposed system also allows the user to search for nearby available parking area. Using Naïve Bayes Classifier algorithm the user can also search for the availability status of a parking area for any particular day. The Development of Smart Parking System
The increasing of the number of vehicle ownership, parking has become the serious problem for several people. One of the problems is difficulty to looking for the empty parking space in the large parking area and also the amount of illegal parking car that does not follow the rules of the parking space dimension. In this paper, we proposed the smart parking system using the Internet of Things (IoT) that can be part of a solution for the parking problem. This system help in organizing the parking lot and helps the driver to reach their parking spots easily as they known which space is vacant. The parking space can be detected using an Infrared sensor that connects to the ESP8266 module that was programmed through Arduino IDE. Users can access parking space information using a smartphone via an application. Especially for users who have been registered before, they have a code for login the app as the requirement for security system and user parking convenience. The system can work with the purpose of the research appropriately.

Due to the increasing difficulty of finding vacant parking slots in urban cities, Smart Parking System has been developed to solve the problem. It is a system that can show the status of all parking slots in an area which allows drivers to find parking easily. The objective of this paper is to design a Smart Parking System by using Internet of things (IoT) sensors and evaluate the system’s performance. In this paper, ultrasonic sensors will be used as the IoT sensors while the microcontroller of the system is the NodeMCU ESP8266. The ultrasonic sensors will be placed in each parking slot to detect the presence of a vehicle. Internet of Things (IoT) plays a important role in connecting the over all environmental things to the network and it is easy to access those un-internet things from any remote location. It’s unavoidable for the people to update with the increase technology. [1] And generally people are facing problems on parking vehicles in parking slots in a parking area. In this study we plan a Smart Parking System (SPS) which enables the user to find the nearest parking area and gives availability of parking slots in that respective parking area. It mainly concentrates on reducing the time in finding the parking area and also it avoids the unnecessary travelling through filled parking areas in a parking area. Thus it decreases the fuel consumption which in turn reduces carbon footprints in an atmosphere.

The paper describes the designing an advanced smart parking system using IOT technology. The devices can be turned ON/OFF using a mobile through server(Wi-Fi). Internet of Things (IOT) plays an important role in connecting the surrounding things in the environment to the network and made easy to access the things not connected to internet from any remote location. The main objective of the smart parking system is to reduce the traffic in the parking place. Usually people are facing lot of problems on parking vehicles in avaliable parking slots in a city. It's very necessary for the people to improve with the growing technology. In this paper we discuss a Smart Parking System which helps the user to find the nearest parking area and gives availability of parking slots in that respective parking area. It mainly focus on reducing the time and in finding an empty parking lots .It also avoids the unnecessary travelling through filled parking lots in a parking area in search of empty slot. Thus it reduces the fuel consumption and in turn reduces carbon emission.

An emerging widely used technology cloud computing which a paddle of computing resources is available for the users. Through internet based the resources could be supplied to cloud consumers on their request. An emerging technique or Internet of things, in short IOT is a system which occupies the attention of researchers. IOT has the capability of transferring data via internetwork without requiring human to computer interaction or human to human interaction. Fog computing or fogging, is a scheme to use edge devices to transfer considerable amount of calculation, storing data, communication locally and routed via internet backbone. In fog computing model processing and data are concentrated on devices rather than cloud. For storage, communication and computation Fog computing appoint a scalable architecture. We have introduced in a smart IOT based parking system using cloud computing, fog computing and IOT. Nowadays, general parking car in a parking lodge is a problem that people are facing because they do not know where an available parking space has. So, we design a smart parking system. In this resource we also used IR obstacle sensor and HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor. Vehicles are required to be detected and measured in distance within range of sensors. Ultrasonic sensor measures the distance from ground and select points of the vehicles. It is based on time measurement of ultrasonic pulse which is reflected after hitting an object. The IR obstacle sensor used or detecting car and ultrasonic sensor used for measuring the distance of the car. The generated data by sensors have been transfer database then to FOG followed by Cloud server to store the data, as cloud storage is being used for backup of database.
Developing an advanced smart parking system using IoT

Internet of Things (IoT) plays an important role in connecting the surrounding things of an environment to the network and provides easy access from the remote location. It is essential that the people should be updated along with the growing technology. In the present world, there is a numerous number of vehicles owned by the people. Due to this large number of vehicles, there will be a lot of discomfort for parking of a vehicle at public places such as shopping complexes, function halls, and cinema theatres. In such places, it is very difficult to find a vacant place to park the vehicle, even though it is a paid facility along with the security guard. In this study, we design an Advanced Smart Parking System (ASPS) which identifies the vehicle and displays an empty slot on the display at the entrance gate of the parking. So that the person will know whether there is any availability or not before entering into the parking place. This system of design also provides the shortest path from the entrance gate to the assigned parking slot by showing the directions through leds. This process of implementation does not involve human interaction except the payment collection.

The proposed project is a smart parking system using IoT and AI that delivers information to people finding a parking space online. It reduces unnecessary time consuming for finding the problem of parking space in parking areas. The website is given by this project based system where users can view various parking areas and choose the space from available slots. The project entitled Car Parking system using IoT and AI is to manage the car parking bay. This project help the company to track all the cars, car location, car in and car out details, apart from this it also help in accounting. By the help of this software we can track total amount collected for each day. Many advantages of employing a car park system for urban planners, business owners and vehicle drivers. This offer convenience for vehicle users and efficient usage of space for urban-based companies. The car parking systems save time, money, space and simplify the often tedious task of parking. The aim of this project is to reduce the traffic jam that occurs in the urban areas which are caused by vehicles searching for parking.

In today’s era one of the most common problems which the world is facing is an exponential increase in population. This has indirectly increased a lot of other issues; one of them being the quantity of vehicles on the road. The increased number of vehicles results in shortage of parking areas. This project aims to present an intelligent parking system for vehicles that identifies the parking slot automatically through sensors and displays it without making the drivers to circle around the parking area. The availability of parking slots will be displayed to the drivers at the entrance. Now-a-days, mainly in metropolitan cities one of the major issue is availability of parking space. The reserved parking area during the busy hours gets completely full and congested which makes a lot of confusion for the car owner to look for their vehicle in the parking area. To overcome this difficulty, it is essential to modernize and improve the current parking system. For this purpose an android application is used to implement a prototype of Smart car Parking System. These allow the car owners to easily look for vehicle parking spaces with the help of IoT (Internet of Things) with slot allocation method and android application using firebase. The current available parking facilities are unable to cope with the arrival and departure frequency of large number of vehicle. To mitigate the previously mentioned issue, we proposed a Smart Parking Management System that helps drivers to automatically find a free parking space easily. Smart parking would enable vehicle occupancy, monitoring and managing to be done very effectively in real-time that would even help in reducing the environmental pollution. Proposed system provides optimized usage of parking space and gets considerable revenue generation.

In the past, there have been many works done on smart parking system approaching an even smarter system in where researches have been done and still being done to create a system which is not technologically savvy but also at ease. With the rapid increase in urban populations, the number of cars in developed and developing countries is also becoming higher. In the congested and densely populated urban areas, the unavailability of car parking spaces is becoming severe. To tackle this problem car parking plaszas and parking areas are being developed. However, the manual management of these car parking spaces is quite tedious and inefficient. Proper management and operation of a large car parking is quite a hectic and tedious job. In order to implement an effective and efficient car parking system, some degree of automation must be employed. In order to increase the operational efficiency of a car parking area, an IoT car parking system using the Arduino project is proposed.The project consists of 3 ultrasonic sensors. sensors are installed on the four car-parking slots. The project also includes an LCD screen that displays the status of parking slots. A remote server-based IOT platform is also integrated into the project for the purpose of remote monitoring and efficient control. The parking system is in development for a long time, until now most of the shopping malls have the parking slot status display through Ultrasonic for car presence and light for indication. It is not enough for smartness, For the smart parking system, everything should be turned into autonomous like auto-detection of money, slots availability
