Theoretical design of new macrocycles for nucleophilic fluorination with KF: thiourea-crown-ether is predicted to overcome [2.2.2]-cryptand

Abstract
A new macrocycle combining thiourea and crown ether groups is able to solubilize KF and promote fluorination via stabilization of the SN2 transition state via four hydrogen bonds.
