On the nonlinear solitary and shock waves in Maxwellian multicomponent space plasma
Physics of Plasmas, 2018
Our objective is to study the nonlinear wave phenomena in a multicomponent plasma with Maxwellian electrons and ions. The main reason for this consideration is to exhibit the effects of dust charge fluctuations in plasma acoustic modes. Different aspects of nonlinear dynamics have been studied through the Korteweg-deVries (K-dV) equation (solitons) and the Burgers equation (shocks) derived by the reductive perturbation technique. A special method, known as the (G′/G) method, has been used for a solution. It predicts the different coherent features of various nonlinear waves successfully, and finally, their importance has been recognized in space plasmas. Evolutions have been shown with the input of appropriate typical plasma parameters to support our observations in space plasmas. All conclusions are in good agreement with the actual occurrences and could be of interest in furthering investigations in experiments and satellite observations in spaces. An important aspect of this exer...
Theoretical investigations for generation of rogue waves in plasma system have been done; We studied the behavior of the nonlinear rogue waves in Jupiter as result of interaction of streaming relativistic electron beam with three components dusty plasma composed of positive dust grains, as well as Maxwellian electrons and positive ions. The most typical nonlinear equation to describe the propagation of rogue wave is the nonlinear Schrodenger equation so it has been calculated. The interaction of a relativistic electron beam with the plasma system can introduce new modes and instability.

In the new investigation of dust-ion acoustic (DIA) waves with negative dust charges and weakly relativistic ions and electrons in the plasma, compressive and rarefactive DIA solitons of interesting characters are established through the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. Eventually, the amplitudes of the compressive DIA solitons are found to be constant at some critical temperature ratio α c (electron to ion temperature ratio) identifying some critical dust charge Z dc. It is predicted, that the reception of dust charges by the plasma particles at the variation of temperature starts functioning to the growth of compressive soliton's constant stage of amplitude after the state of critical α c. The identification of critical dust charge (Z dc) which is found to be very great for solitons of constant amplitudes becomes feasible for very small dust to ion density ratio (σ). But it can be achieved, we observe, due to the relativistic increase in ion-density as in mass, which is also a salient feature of this investigation.
The inner magnetosphere of Earth houses relativistically degenerate particles in which the formation of shocks and solitons occurs. In this paper we have considered plasma containing relativistically degenerate warm electrons and cold inertial electrons which give rise to electron acoustic solitary structure. We have also considered collisions which amount to dissipation actions and shocks. A KdV Burger equation has been derived by standard reductive perturbation technique and numerically analyzed by employing the celebrated Tan-hyperbolic method. The results are important in explaining the observed geo-magnetic storm in recent years.
Evolution of nonlinear dust-ion-acoustic waves in an inhomogeneous plasma
Physics of Plasmas, 2006
The propagation of nonlinear dust-ion-acoustic waves in an inhomogeneous dusty plasma is studied. At small but finite amplitudes, the wave evolution is governed by a modified Korteweg-deVries Burgers equation, whose coefficients are space dependent. The properties of the evolution equation are analyzed and the behavior of the corresponding shock and soliton solutions is numerically studied. If dust-charge perturbation is neglected, there exists a zero-nonlinearity point where the coefficient of the nonlinear term changes from negative to positive. At that point the nonlinear wave also undergoes structural deformation. If the dust-charge perturbation is taken into account, the zero-nonlinearity point may not appear and the soliton or shock wave will retain its form during the propagation.
Quantum and Relativistic Effects on the KdV and Envelope Solitons in Ion-Plasma Waves
In this article, we investigate the linear and nonlinear behavior of ion-plasma waves in a two-component plasma containing ions and dust particles. We have studied the linear dispersion characteristics, nonlinear KdV solitons, and amplitude modulated electrostatic waves. Such ion-plasma wave modes in dust-ion plasma have been theoretically investigated by incorporating quantum diffraction and relativistic effects. Numerical analysis of the linear dispersion relation with variations of different parameters has been carried out. By employing the reductive perturbation technique the KdV equation describing the small amplitude solitary profile has been studied. Using the standard multiple scale perturbation method, a nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation has been derived by including quantum and relativistic effects, which describes the nonlinear evolution of the ion-plasma waves in dust-ion plasma. The wave is found to become modulationally unstable beyond certain critical wavenumber. The critical wavenumber and the growth rate of modulational instability are shown to depend significantly on the relativistic motion of plasma particles and the quantum diffraction effect. The results presented in the article are expected to be helpful for understanding the propagation of finite amplitude ion-plasma waves in some laboratory and astrophysical plasma systems.

Arbitrary amplitude and small amplitude ion-acoustic solitary waves (IASWs) have been investigated in a relativistic, collisionless, unmagnetized, and degenerate dense electron–positron–ion plasma. The arbitrary amplitude IASWs have been studied by using the Sagdeev-type pseudo-potential approach. Along with approximate solution, the exact amplitude solitary structure has also been studied numerically. The electrons and positrons are assumed to follow the corresponding Fermi distribution function and the ions are described by the hydrodynamic equations. A new dispersion relation for the ion-acoustic wave has been derived for the relativistic Thomas–Fermi plasma. An energy balance-like equation involving the Sagdeev-type pseudo-potential has been investigated and it has been shown that the concentration of plasma particles has significant effect on the permitted Mach number range of IASWs. Also, it has been pointed out that the only compressional supersonic IASWs can propagate in the...
Solitary and rogue waves in Fermi-Dirac plasmas: relativistic degeneracy effects
Ion acoustic (IA) solitary and rogue waves are studied in an unmagnetized plasma consisting of nondegenerate warm ions, relativistically degenerate electrons and positrons. By using the reductive perturbation technique, the evolution of IA solitary waves is described by the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation. However, when the frequency of the carrier wave is much smaller than the ion plasma frequency then the KdV equation is also used to study the nonlinear evolution of modulationally unstable modified IA wavepackets through the derivation of nonlinear Schrödinger equation. It is found that the characteristics of the IA solitary and rogue waves are substantially influenced by the intrinsic plasma parameters. The relevance of the present investigation involving IA solitary and rogue waves in astrophysical plasma environments is also highlighted.
Nonlinear propagation of weakly relativistic ion-acoustic waves in electron–positron–ion plasma
Pramana, 2016
This work presents theoretical and numerical discussion on the dynamics of ion-acoustic solitary wave for weakly relativistic regime in unmagnetized plasma comprising non-extensive electrons, Boltzmann positrons and relativistic ions. In order to analyse the nonlinear propagation phenomena, the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) equation is derived using the well-known reductive perturbation method. The integration of the derived equation is carried out using the ansatz method and the generalized Riccati equation mapping method. The influence of plasma parameters on the amplitude and width of the soliton and the electrostatic nonlinear propagation of weakly relativistic ion-acoustic solitary waves are described. The obtained results of the nonlinear low-frequency waves in such plasmas may be helpful to understand various phenomena in astrophysical compact object and space physics.
Nonlinear Propagation of Dust-Ion-Acoustic Shock Waves in a Degenerate Multi-Species Plasma
International Journal of Cosmology Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2019
The nonlinear propagation of dust-ion-acoustic (DIA) waves in an unmagnetized collisionless degenerate dense plasma (containing degenerate electron, positron, ion fluids and negatively charged dust grains) have been theoretically investigated. The Burgers' equation has been derived by employing the reductive perturbation method and by taking the effect of viscous force in the ion fluid into account. The stationary shock wave solution of Burgers' equation is obtained, and numerically analyzed in order to identify the basic properties of dust-ion-acoustic shock structures. It has been shown that depending on plasma parametric values, the degenerate plasma under consideration supports compressive or rarefactive shock structures. The relevance of our results in astrophysical objects like white dwarfs and neutron stars, which are of scientific interest, are briefly discussed.
