Twenty cucumber hybrids were evaluated for growth, yield and fruit quality traits in Allahabad agroclimic conditions. The study revealed that the hybrid Garima Super recorded highest vine length (249.17 cm), number of branches per vine (11.42), number of male flowers (206.33) and female flowers (29.17) per vine, number of fruits per vine (13.83), fruit weight (168.33 g), fruit length (168.33 cm), fruit diameter (4.03 cm), fruit yield (2.24 kg/ vine and 36.24 t ha-1), TSS (5.50 °Brix), vitamin C content (7.28 mg/100 g) and organoleptic scores for various fruit quality traits while, the lowest days to appearance first male flower (31.92) and female flower (35.83), node number at which first male flower (3.42) and female flower (4.83) appeared and days to first fruit harvest (44.83) were observed in same hybrid. Hybrid Garima Super was found superior based on the overall performance of different cucumber hybrids for growth, yield, quality characters and economic returns for cultivation of cucumber under Allahabad conditions.

The experiment was carried out at Horticulture Research Field, Department of Horticulture, during the year 2022. This experiment was conducted to find out the best performing genotypes in relation of growth, yield and quality of cucumber. Seven cucumber genotypes such as IET, 2021/CUCUVAR-1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and three check variety namely NAZIA,LHC-1395 and MALINI were studied at SHUATS, Prayagraj in randomized block design with three replications in 4.5 x 3.0 m plot during summer season 2022 to find out the best performing genotype in related to growth, yield and fruit quality traits. NAZIA was found with the maximum fruit weight (247.67g), Fruit length (18.37cm), Fruit yield per plot (43.64 kg), Fruit yield (326.40 q/ha). NAZIA was found superior based on overall performance in term of growth, yield and quality and highest net return (3,33,718 Rs/ha). The highest cost benefit ratio (3.14) was found in cucumber NAZIA variety.

An experiment entitled “Effect of growing media and micronutrients on growth, yield and quality of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) under polyhouse condition” was carried out during kharif season 2017 at Department of Horticulture, S.K.N. College of Agriculture, Jobner. The experiment consisted twelve treatment combinations with three growing media (garden soil, garden soil + FYM, garden soil + vermicompost and four foliar spray of micronutrients in Completely Randomized Design with three replications. Growing of cucumber with garden soil 18 kg/bag + vermicompost 2 kg/bag and foliar spray of boron 0.5 % + calcium 0.5% significantly improved all the growth parameters (plant height, number of green leaves per plant, number of nodes per plant, stem diameter, total number of pickings), yield attributes (number of fruits per plant, av. fruit weight, fruit yield per plant, fruit yield per 1000 m2 area.
Influence of Fertilization System on the Quality of Cucumbers

Different types of cucumbers culture, respectively organic system and the system of chemical and organic fertilization can influence vegetable quality. The present study was carried out in a solarium on a farm, in six experimental variants, three replications. Three variants for fertilization systems with two cucumbers cultivars were used. The biological material used in the experiments consisted of the cultivars 'Triumf ' F1 and 'Mirabelle' F1. Fertilization systems used were organic with manure, classic with chemical fertilizers and soluble complex fertilizers with fertigation. In the present research agrochemical and biochemical characteristics were analysed and also weight of fruits and yield on plants and kg/m 2 were measured. Agrochemical characteristics were: contents of nitrates, phosphorus and potassium from cucumbers and the biochemical characteristics measured were: acidity, soluble carbohydrates, vitamin C and dry matter. The results showed that the fertilization with soluble complex fertilizers in addition with fertigation assured the entire necessary for the growth and fructification of cucumbers. The presence of chemical fertilizers do not influence in a negative way the nitrates, phosphorus and potassium content and the quality of consumption of cucumbers was assured. Regarding the cultivars the best yield and quality results were obtained to 'Mirabelle' F1.
Comparative Studies on Nutritional Values of Four Varieties of Cucumber

The proximate composition and selected minerals of four varieties of Cucumber (Cucumis sativus) were determined using standard methods of analysis (AOAC, 1980). The results revealed that poinsett 76 (V 1), Ashley (V 2), Market more (V 3) and supermarketer (V 4) contained 8.88, 5.81, 6.13 and 11.75% of protein respectively. The lipid content was at a range of 0.34 (Ashlay) to 0.36% (Supermarketer), Moisture and Ash contents were compared with values of some literatures cited. As usual micro nutrients (Ca, P and Mg) were higher in value than the micro nutrients (Fe and Zn). The nutrient with the highest value was Mg as observed in Marketmore variety followed by P in Ashley while values observed in Fe and Zn are lower. The final result revealed that Supermarketer (V 4) had higher values for protein, fibre, fat and ash with Carbohydrate than the other three varieties. It is hoped that these results would add to existing nutritional data.

The experiment was carried out at the Agricultural Research Station of the College of Agriculture and the Marshlands / University of Thi-Qar, located in Al-Mustufawia for the agricultural season (2019-2020). The study was the effect of cultivar and organic and mineral fertilization on the qualitative and quantitative characteristics of cucumber crops grown in greenhouses, and applied according to the factorial experiments inside the split plots, using the complete randomized sectors with three replications. The factors of research were: two cultivars (Datis and Sakata) occupied the main plots, three levels of organic fertilization occupied the secondary plots which included control treatment O 1 , cow manure O 2 (2.457 tons of greenhouse-1) and poultry manure O 3 (3.713 tons of greenhouse-1) and the third factor was four levels of mineral fertilization (NPK) including control treatment M 1 , M 2 (2.250 kg. dunam-1), M 3 (3.350 kg. dunam-1), and M 4 (4.450 kg. dunam-1) which occupied the sub-plots. The results showed that Datis cultivar significantly outperformed Sakata cultivar in yield per plant, total yield, leaf content of nitrogen and phosphorus, and fruit content of carbohydrates, reaching (1.402 kg. plant-1 , 24.24 tons .greenhoues-1 , 2.2517%, 0.4069%, 1.2876%) respectively. On the other hand, the treatment of organic fertilizer O 3 recorded a significant effect in the following crop traits such as leaf area, total yield, leaf content of nitrogen and phosphorus, and fruit content of carbohydrate, reaching (178.0 cm 2 , 24.36 tons. greenhouse-1 , 2.5017%, 0.4608%, 1.3561%). Respectively compared to other treatments, total yield, leaf content of nitrogen and phosphorus, reaching (180.1 cm 2 , 25.88 t. greenhoues-1 , and 2.3478%, and 0.4561%) to other treatments. The treatment M 2 significantly outperformed in yield per plant (1.682) kg. plant-1 and treatment M 3 significantly exceeded the fruit's carbohydrate content, reaching (1.2930%). All the combinations among this study's treatments were compared to meet their significant effecting on all traits.
Determination of the Effect of Different Irrigation Regimes on Some Quality Properties of Cucumber

This study aimed to examine the effects of varying levels of deficit irrigation applied through partial root drying (PRD) and conventional deficit irrigation on some parameters of cucumber plant such as fresh and dried biomass, plant stem diameter, number of leaf, fruit length, fruit diameter, fruit weight, water soluble dry matter (WSDM). Seven irrigation treatments (DI75, APRD75, FPRD75, DI50, APRD50, FPRD50) were examined together with the control treatment (FULL). The irrigation water of the treatments DI75, APRD75 and FPRD75 are 25% less than the FULL treatment. The irrigation water of the DI50, APRD50 and FPRD50 treatments is 50% less than the FULL treatment. DI75 and DI50 are traditional deficit irrigation applications in which both sides of the plant root zone are wetted. This study included four genotypes of cucumber (IC257296, IC420405, GYNE-5, PUSA SANYOG) which were evaluated based on phenotypic traits when grown under two different soil zones of Doha (Qatar) and Meerut (India). Statistical analysis to estimate various genetic parameters like phenotypic and genotypic variance, phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation (PCV and GCV), broad sense heritability and genetic gain and principal component analysis (PCA) of genotypes was done in order to assess the magnitude of variability for various agro-metrical characters. In Indian soil zone, highest yield was observed in GYNE-5, while, in Qatar soil zone, highest yield was observed in PUSA SANYOG. The phenotypic coefficient of variation (PCV) was higher than its corresponding genotypic counterpart (GCV) for all characters studied.
