Reframing Time to Save the Nation: The Jewish Historian as Cultural Trickster (original) (raw)

Chronologics. Periodisation in a Global Context , 2022

Abstract

Using the careers of Cecil Roth and Salo Baron in the 1920s, the paper explores the re-framing of Jewish history by European historians who built their early careers in New York City. The rivalry between the two men is highlighted by their early studies on the nature of the ghetto. Open access volume ed.
