Zooplankton and Dead Zooplankton in Kharbeyskie Lakes of Bolshezemelskaya Tundra (Period From 2009 to 2012)

Zooplankton composition and structure in Kharbeyskie Lakes system of Bolshezemelskaya tundra were investigated in July, August of 2009, 2010 and 2012. In total, 87 species and forms were found and more than half of them belonged to rotifers (Rotifera). Plankton fauna of the studied lakes was typical for southern tundra and presented by azonal taxa. Composition and abundance of zooplankton of Bolshoy Kharbey Lake and adjacent lakes were different and correspond to trophic conditions in ecosystems. Inter-annual dynamics of plankton communities in the lakes was determined by weather conditions. In Bolshoy Kharbey Lake four euplanktonic species of rotifers and crustaceans (Cladocera and Copepoda) dominated in terms of abundance and nine species dominated in terms of biomass. Specific composition and abundance of the winter zooplankton in the Rybinsk reservoir

А.-Зимой 2008-2016 гг. изучены состав, сезонная динамика, вертикальное и горизонтальное распределение зоопланктона в пелагиали и прибрежье водохранилища. Установлено, что его обилие не велико (численность < 10 тыс. экз./м 3 , биомасса < 0.1 г/м 3), на порядок ниже, чем регистрировали в 1970-1980-х годах. Пик численности сообщества, как и ранее, наблюдался в марте. Среди ракообразных преобладал холодолюбивый Cyclops kolensis. Впервые зарегистрирована размножающаяся популяция нового для водохранилища C. bohater. Отмечено снижение обилия ранее многочисленных коловраток рода Notholca и Conochiloides natans. Их заменили представители рода Synchaeta (S. kitina и S. tremula), которые формировали подо льдом в среднем ~50% численности коловраток. A.-The specific composition, seasonal dynamics, vertical and horizontal zooplankton distribution were studied in the pelagic zone and littoral of the Rybinsk reservoir in the winters of 2008-2016. The zooplankton abundance was found to be low (the abundance < 10,000 ind./m 3 , the biomass < 0.1 g/m 3), by an order of magnitude lower than the values recorded in the 1970-1980s. As earlier, the abundance peak was observed in March. The cryophilic Cyclops kolensis prevailed among the crustaceans. A reproducing population of C. bohater (new for the reservoir) was recorded for the first time. The numbers of the previously abundant rotifers from the Notholca and Conochiloides natans genera decreased. They have been replaced by representatives of the Synchaeta genus (S. kitina and S. tremula) which formed ~50% (on the average) of the rotifer population under ice. The replacement of the under-ice zooplankton species and features of the phenology and dynamics of the Cyclops kolensis population are discussed.

Structural and functional characteristics of phytoplankton of Lake Vendyurskoe affected by trout farm

The paper presents the results of a study of the phytoplankton of small Lake Vendyurskoe (south of Karelia) in the spring ice period, in summer and autumn seasons of 2020. The dynamics of quantitative and structural indices of lake algae during the trout farm operation is considered in comparison with the indices of previous years. For the studied seasons of 2020 there were identified 122 taxa of algal flora belonging to 8 divisions. The structure of algocenoses can be characterized by rich species diversity and quantitative development as diatom green structure with golden algae insertions. In autumn the representatives of cyanobacteria were encountered en masse in some areas. Phytoplankton abundance in the spring ice period varied within 612 thousand cells/l - 2188 thousand cells/l, the biomass reached 2.9 mg/l with a minimum value of 0.1 mg/l. Представлены результаты изучения планктонных водорослей водохранилища Сасык в летний период 2013-2014 гг. Водоем расположен на северо-западном побережье Черного моря недалеко от Килийской дельты Дуная, В этот период в нем отмечено 160 видов (163 ввт, учитывая те, что представляют номенклатурный тип вида), из 8 отделов, 13 классов, 27 порядков, 44 семейств и 92 родов. Основу таксономической структуры фитопланктона составляют представители отделов Chlorophyta (66 видов, 69 ввт)-41%, Bacillariophyta (51 вид-32%), Cyanophyta (26 видов-16%) и Euglenophyta (6 видов-4%). Менее разнообразно представлены Charophyta и Dinophyta-по 4 вида, или 2,5%, Xanthophyta-2 вида, или 1 %, Chrysophyta-1 вид, или 1%.

ON THE ECOLOGY OF ZOOPLANKTON (ROTIFERA, CLADOCERA, COPEPODA) OF LAKES SOUTH OF WESTERN SIBERIA (in Russian)

Samples for work were collected in 2000 – 2013 years in more than 100 lakes of the steppe and forest-steppe zones of the Novosibirsk region. 204 species and subspecies of zooplankton were found in the lakes totally, including 35 species and subspecies in 45 lakes which were found in this territory for the first time and whose ecological characteristics are different from those in the literature. This species occur in samples singly as a rule or begin to develop only under definite conditions and did not still attract attention of scientists. High lability of small lakes ecosystems is not conductive to long-term presence of zooplankton species found in the community. Narrow frameworks of salinity levels, hydrocarbonate water hardness and temperature are optimal for these types of species.
