Low amplitude impact of damaged PBX 9501 (original) (raw)
2000
Abstract
Low amplitude impact tests on pristine and damaged, ‘baseline’ and ‘aged’ PBX 9501 specimens were performed to determine the critical impact-velocity threshold for violent reactions. HE damage was achieved by a single impact ranging in velocity from 36.9 to 54.4 m/s. External blast gauge and ballistic pendulum data were used to evaluate reaction violence relative to a steady-state detonation. Strain
