Coastal areas have become prone areas due to endogenous and exogenous processes of the earth including global warming and climate change. These conditions are also associated with the extraction of physical potential and biodiversity conducted by the coastal communities. A large number of population led to an increase in either physical or social pressure and causes of coastal vulnerability to disasters, including hurricanes and floods. Coastal flooding and sea-level rise that is currently happening on the north coast of Java, including the Pekalongan municipal an impact on the urban physical and social conditions of coastal communities living along the coastal area of Pekalongan. Spatial planning that has been manifested in the years 2009-2029 RTRW Pekalongan Pekalongan coastal also states have the potential vulnerability to disasters, including coastal flood, flooding and abrasion. The study was conducted using Geographic Information Systems technology is applied in calculating the loss of flood tide and sea level rise through Participatory GIS. Collaborating qualitative information from the public by using QuickBird satellite image and Geo-Eye of Google Earth to identify land use and modeling of sea level rise by the IPCC scenarios (6 mm / year) in 2012, 2030, and 2050, and to produce vulnerability maps coast based on the information society. Extraction and analysis of spatial data is done by ArcGIS 9.3, ArcView 3.3 and the analysis of land price based NJOP of Pekalongan with Microsoft Excel. The results of this study either (1) Modeling the flood tide and sea level rise in Pekalongan in the form of maps, (2) of land vulnerability information from the public participatory GIS activities, (3) Figures for estimated losses on the flood tide and sea level rise in the City Pekalongan in 2012, 2030 and 2050.

Maximum Power Point Tracking Controller for PV Application Trends and Challenges
The maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller is an important part of photovoltaic (PV) systems because of its capability to consistently maintain extracting maximum power at any given time and in various conditions. This paper reviews the MPPT methods for PV systems application. Several MPPT algorithms have been presented in literature, from simple to complex methods. All methods must be embedded in a power conditioner, usually a DC-DC converter, which serves as the controller media for the MPPT controller in PV systems application.
