Abstract
This paper describes a programme designed to teach the principles of nonaversive behavioural intervention to course members undertaking a degree programme within a tertiary institution. The students who were also in full time employment were invited to bring a colleague from their workplace to participate in a professional development programme. Course members worked in both human service and educational settings. As a "seeding pair", the student and colleague returned to their workplace to set up a team to implement a behavioural intervention for a focus person who displayed challenging behaviour. Post intervention interview data were collected from students and colleagues as well as from third party participants independent of the implementation of the intervention.
