Career Prediction System

International Journal of Scientific Research in Science and Technology, 2021

In today's world Choosing an appropriate career path is one of the most important decisions and with the increase in the number of career options and opportunities, making this decision even more difficult for the students. Different people suggest different career paths but at last, the student must select their career. According to the survey conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research’s (CSIR), about 40% of students are confused about their career options. This may lead the students to wrong career selection and then working in an area which was not meant for them, this leads their career in wrong path, and this may not be good for their career as well as for the country. Therefore, it is quite important to take a right decision regarding the future career. This system would help students studying in under graduation or post- graduation to select a correct career path for their career. The system would recommend the student, a career option based on their skills in various fields and areas. This career prediction system mainly concentrates on the career prediction of computer science and engineering domain candidates. This system will help them in deciding in which job role the candidate should be fit in.

Fuzzy Logic Based Career Guidance System

2016

We propose a solution to help the students in selecting the right career path using web based application. The project aims to use a fuzzy logic based simple mechanism to build an interactive web based system to help the student community in making the right career choice. The web based application will be available for use with some basic registration required by the user. The project helps out the user to analyze his preliminary abilities to convert probable real life career selection. As the application is based on selfanalyzation, we feel that it will have a real impact on the user.

An Intelligent Career Guidance System using Machine Learning

Most of the students across the globe are always in confusion after they complete higher secondary and therefore, the stage where they need to settle on an appropriate career path. The students don't have adequate maturity to accurately understand what a private has got to follow so as to decide on a congenial career path. As we labor under the stages, we realize that each student undergoes a series of doubts or thought processes on what to pursue after 12th, which is that the single tallest question. Then comes the subsequent agony whether or not they have essential skills for the stream they need chosen. Our computerized career counselling system is employed to predict the acceptable department for a personal supported their skills assessed by an objective test which will be based on their interest chosen and their 12 th top two subjects marks scored. If one completes their online assessment, which we've created in our system, then automatically they'll find yourself in choosing an appropriate course which is able to also reduce the failure rate by choosing a wrong career path.

Artificial Intelligence Approach to Effective Career Guidance

2006

With the vast opportunities available for IT education, career guidance has become a crucial theme for deciding the appropriate career path of students. The lack of such expert career guidance systems in this domain inspired us to come up with the initial idea. This paper reports on a Career Advisory Expert System, named iAdvice to guide students engaged in their higher education to determine their career paths and to select their course subjects to be inline with their career goals. Expert System features such as reasoning ability, providing explanations providing alternative solutions, providing uncertainty and probability measures, questioning ability are found in iAdvice. The design of Career Advisory Expert System takes into consideration factors such as past examination performance, student preferences and skills, industry alignment with subjects, which are the main factors also considered by a human expert in providing career guidance. According to the evaluation carried out it was found out that the model has a capability of about 70% accuracy in predicting the performance, about 85% relevance of the advice provided, the self-explanatory nature of the system and about 87% provision of informative and useful advice.

Critical Evaluation of Decision Support System Implemented For Career Selection and Comparative Analysis with Expert System

The paper presents the evaluation of the existing Decision Support Systems implemented in the domain of career selection. The Decision Support Systems are analyzed and critically reviewed to list the shortcomings of DSS for the domain. In total five Decision Support Systems implemented for career selection are selected for the purpose. The primary objective of the research is to compare the solution provided by the DSS and Expert System for the career selection. The paper identifies the problems associated with the present solution in form of DSS and suggests how Expert Systems can provide the solution. The paper proposes that Expert Systems are in a better position to provide intelligent solutions for the domain of career selection. To justify that, a comparative analysis is provided at the end of the paper. As a secondary objective, the factors affecting the career selection are also retrieved and listed.

Design and Implementation of Computerized Career Information System for Secondary Schools

The presence of counselors in school is not just for the sake of it, they are there to direct student on area they psychologically find them fit. The job of counseling towards a future career of students is not an easy task, the student has to be followed regularly within attitude and academic performance so that he/she will be directed towards his/her life career. This thesis work researched into the procedure involved in guiding and counseling students in the Junior secondary school with a view to come up with the computerized system that would help in carrying out the activities selecting the best class type (science, Commercial and Arts) effectively. The problems associated with the existing system were detected and possible solutions to the problems were provided in the new system. The new system is a computerized one, which works automatically; it is very easy to use and also cost affective .The new system is timely and accurate in report generation.

Career path recommendation system for UiTM Perlis students using fuzzy logic

2014 5th International Conference on Intelligent and Advanced Systems (ICIAS), 2014

Recommendation systems are commonly used over the Internet to guide customers to find the products or services that best fit with their personal preferences. In Malaysia, choosing a career between students is significant due to the existence of multiple human abilities. Many students have chosen their career path without receiving proper advice from suitable professional or university services. This may potentially cause mismatch between academic achievements, personality, interest and abilities of the students. In order to recommend students in career selection, it is essential to build a recommendation system that provides direction and guidance to students in choosing their career. Hence, this study proposes a career recommendation system driven by fuzzy logic technique. The use of fuzzy logic approach helps students by giving career recommendation based on career test. Based on conventional method that have been applied, they just focus to one job careers without look up the other potentials job careers that also can be match with their skills or abilities. So by implementing this system it give a better result and also students also can involves with this system.

An Expert System to build Cognitive Model of an IT Student using Artificial Neural Networks for Predicting Placements during Campus Recruitments

Careers that suits students' needs to be predicted and the students counselled to opt for those suitable careers. An undergraduate student of IT studies has to choose many courses to complete his/her undergraduate program. But, there arevery few courses among them that influence the probability of getting placement during campus drives. Career prediction system needs to consider different aspects related to cognition of the student. An expert system is required for prediction. In this paper, considering the influencing courses an Expert System that uses cognitive metrics is proposed and presented to build a Cognitive Model of a student. The Expert system trains an artificial neural network using the cognitive model and predicts the probability of getting placements for a student in the Target Year.

Decision Support System for Determining: Right Education Career Choice

In today’s education environment, where it is very hard to choose your career option in a right way. Currently there is an increasing interest in Machine learning and its role in educational systems, making this as a new growing research area. Machine learning practices can provide significant contribution by providing support to users for opting the right education domain to shape their career. In this paper, we have proposed education decision support system model, which compromises the components i.e. user interface, inference engine and knowledge base. Our model supports active machine learning type techniques to provide a knowledge discovery pattern, thus it also includes the knowledge of several domain experts. Our proposed model generates the output results (career choice) by taking several past studies, records, student’s information and current education environment into consideration with the help of respective domain experts. Further, we have evaluated the performance of our model by considering several test cases.
