Bimodal wireless sensing with dual-channel wide bandgap heterostructure varactors (original) (raw)
A capacitive wireless sensing scheme utilizing an AlN/GaN-based dual-channel varactor is presented, which takes advantage of two capacitance plateaus in its capacitance-voltage characteristics. This bimodal resonant sensor is integrated within an inductively-coupled LRC network, enabling wireless readout and applicable for various sensing types including gas and biological detection. The development emphasizes the unique properties of GaN-based materials, particularly their robustness and suitability for advanced sensor designs.
