Uniqueness theorems in inverse spectral theory for one-dimensional Schrödinger operators
1996
New unique characterization results for the potential V (x) in connection with Schrödinger operators on R and on the half-line [0, ∞) are proven in terms of appropriate Krein spectral shift functions. Particular results obtained include a generalization of a well-known uniqueness theorem of Borg and Marchenko for Schrödinger operators on the half-line with purely discrete spectra to arbitrary spectral types and a new uniqueness result for Schrödinger operators with confining potentials on the entire real line.

We discuss results where the discrete spectrum (or partial information on the discrete spectrum) and partial information on the potential q of a one-dimensional Schrödinger operator H = − d 2 dx 2 +q determine the potential completely. Included are theorems for finite intervals and for the whole line. In particular, we pose and solve a new type of inverse spectral problem involving fractions of the eigenvalues of H on a finite interval and knowledge of q over a corresponding fraction of the interval. The methods employed rest on Weyl m-function techniques and densities of zeros of a class of entire functions.
Inverse Spectral Problems for Dirac Operators with Summable Matrix-Valued Potentials
Integral Equations and Operator Theory, 2012
We solve the direct and inverse spectral problems for Dirac operators on (0, 1) with matrix-valued potentials whose entries belong to L p (0, 1), p ∈ [1, ∞). We give a complete description of the spectral data (eigenvalues and suitably introduced norming matrices) for the operators under consideration and suggest a method for reconstructing the operator from the spectral data.

We consider the AKNS (Ablowitz-Kaup-Newell-Segur) operator on the unit interval with potentials belonging to Sobolev spaces in the framework of inverse spectral theory. Precise sets of eigenvalues are given in order that it together with the knowledge of the potentials on the side (a, 1) and partial informations on the potential on (a − ε, a) for some arbitrary small ε > 0 determine the potentials entirely on (0, 1). Naturally, the smaller is a and the more partial informations are known, the less is the number of the needed eigenvalues.
We prove that given any compact subset of the complex plane containing zero, there exists a Hankel operator having this set as its spectrum.
Inverse problem for interior spectral data of the Dirac operator on a finite interval
Publications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 2002
In this paper the inverse problems for the Dirac operator on a finite interval are studied. A set of values of eigenfunctions in some internal point and spectrum are taken as a data. Uniqueness theorems are obtained. The approach that was used in the investigation of inverse problems for interior spectral data of the Sturm-Liouville operator is employed.
On Spectral Theory for Schrödinger Operators with Operator-Valued Potentials

Given a complex, separable Hilbert space , we consider differential expressions of the type τ = - (d^2/dx^2) + V(x), with x ∈ (a,∞) or x ∈. Here V denotes a bounded operator-valued potential V(·) ∈() such that V(·) is weakly measurable and the operator norm V(·)_() is locally integrable. We consider self-adjoint half-line L^2-realizations H_α in L^2((a,∞); dx; ) associated with τ, assuming a to be a regular endpoint necessitating a boundary condition of the type sin(α)u'(a) + cos(α)u(a)=0, indexed by the self-adjoint operator α = α^* ∈(). In addition, we study self-adjoint full-line L^2-realizations H of τ in L^2(; dx; ). In either case we treat in detail basic spectral theory associated with H_α and H, including Weyl--Titchmarsh theory, Green's function structure, eigenfunction expansions, diagonalization, and a version of the spectral theorem.
