This research paper looks into how leadership skills have brought prosperity to many countries, including India over the years. In India, leadership skills in leading the country is popular, and has been honed by generations of Indians living in the country from ancient to modern days. In the earlier stage, leadership research focused in bringing out 'authority' in leaders, and look towards those who possess assertive voice and clear vision to lead the people. Now, the core value of organizations and organizational performance begins with the leaders and their different leadership styles discussed above. By analysing many leadership styles associated with the Indian leaders such as the great man behavioural, situational, contingency, transformational, transactional, and complexity leadership styles, the paper looks into how such leadership qualities have become a necessity in bringing development and performance changes in modern organizational work operations. The analysis brought out that these leadership styles remains as the main determinant of organizational success, since they offer good context in increasing commitment from workers towards organizational performance.

Organizational change refers to the transformation of an organization from its current state to its desired future state. Organizational change helps to maintain a competitive position as well as the companies’ sustainability in a competitive market. There are different kinds of leadership styles that have strong relationships with the growth of change. This research reviews the different leadership styles, including commanding, supportive, inspirational, logical, transformational, transactional and servant. Different leadership styles take up different kinds of roles and use different actions when implementing organizational change. In conclusion, this research concludes that different changing processes require different leadership styles.

This paper discusses the competence required in the leadership of virtual organization. The speciics of virtual organization presents a challenge to traditional managerial styles. In order to achieve success in virtual environment, a leader must develop speciic abilities. This analysis examines the uniqueness of the virtual organization, including team work and management. The last part presents ndings and summaries regarding eeective e-leadership requirement. A virtual leader managing a virtual organization should possess several social competencies, as well as technological knowledge and managerial abilities. Virtual leadership is still evolving, therefore the diagnosis of its crucial elements is very important. The basic listing of e-leaders' competence has a great impact on our understanding of virtual organizations. The ndings indicate the main competencies that each e-leader should be focusing on.

Role of leader-member exchange relationship in organizational change management: Mediating role of organizational culture

Today’s dynamic and global village enforces competitive organizations to adopt new practices, processes, and regulations for survival. This study examined the role of leader-member exchange relationship in organizational change management with mediating role of organizational culture. Supervisors have contributing role to implement the changes. Middle and front line managers have more discretionary power to implement further changes for having better performance. The findings of this study showed that there exist significant and positive relationship between LMX and organizational change management. Furthermore, it is also depicted that organizational culture show mediation between LMX and organizational change management.

Leaders and managers in the modern business world must be prepared to respond to increasingly unpredictable situations effecting their organizations. What are the critical leadership skills that leaders, managers and employees need to acquire and which activities should they perform to become highly effective within a managerial leadership process? The purpose of this research is to explore the leadership skills and management-oriented activities of leaders, managers and employees, and the positive relationship that exists between the leaders and manager's attitudes toward their behavior and perception that will promote an effective managerial leadership process. The authors conducted an investigation of the literature relating to specific roles, skills and activities that are critical for organizational leaders, managers and employees. The authors developed a quantitative method for data collection and analysis that emphasized objective measurements and statistical analysis. Specific leadership skills such as the ability to promote creativity of ideas, team building and emotional stability, and management-oriented activities such as accepting responsibility for outcomes, promoting collaboration, and establishing cross-culture orientation and ethics were examined. After conducting the research the authors developed a theoretical model. The authors suggest that the model takes a strategic view, and that it can be used as a guide for organizational leaders and managers.
