Flavonoid glycosides from Cuban Erythroxylum species (original) (raw)

This study identifies and characterizes flavonoid glycosides from various Cuban Erythroxylum species, specifically focusing on Erythroxylum minutifolium. Employing a systematic extraction and chromatographic process, significant flavonoid constituents such as ombuin-3-rutinoside-5-glucoside, ombuin-3-rutinoside, and quercetin-3-rutinoside were isolated and analyzed through NMR and UV spectroscopy. The findings contribute valuable data to the chemotaxonomy of Erythroxylum and highlight the potential therapeutic properties of these compounds.
