The purpose of the present study was to examine the effect of a life skills program taught in the school setting through physical education classes. The participants were 97 students (59 boys, 38 girls), aged from 10 to 12 years (M = 11,16, SD = .64). Students were evaluated regarding their: (a) performance in sport skills; (b) knowledge about life skills; (c) self -assessment of their ability to use life skills; and (d) their sense of selfefficiency about their sport skills performance before and after implementation of the program. The results of the study support the effectiveness of a program that integrates physical education curriculum and life-skills training. Students who participate in such program can improve their sports skills, while at the same time the inclusion of life skills training into practice may serve as an effective model for learning life -skills.

The number of samples was 51 people divided into three groups-sampling using the purposive sampling technique. Instruments to measure life skills using a questionnaire, a scale of life skills in sports. Based on the data processing and analysis results, the following conclusions can be drawn: There are differences in the development of life skills between students who are given life skills and students who are not given life skills. There is also a difference in life skills development between students who are given a load of life skills and students who do not carry out physical education activities. PROLOGUE: A REVIEW OF LIFE SKILLS TEACHING IN SPORT AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION
This prologue reviews existing programs and respective research on life skills in the context of sport and physical education. The paper identifies three distinct lines of research within this area and discusses how the five papers of this issue fit into these research lines. The first of these lines focuses on the identification of athletes' and students' life skills needs, the second on factors contributing to life skills development, and the third on the evaluation of life skills programs. Further, two issues regarding future research are discussed: the transferability of life skills and the development of life skills measures.
A qualitative evaluation of a life-skills program in a physical education context
This paper reports a qualitative evaluation of a life-skills program in physical education. Participants in the program were 86 students of Grades 6 and 8. Results showed a positive reception of the program by the majority of the students as well as knowledge and transfer of life skills. However, there was also a group of students who were negatively predisposed towards the program. Drawbacks of the program that emerged were the absence of variety and the compulsory nature of goal setting.
Exploration of Structural Life Skill Program on Physical Activity
International Journal of Human Movement and Sports Sciences, 2022
Life skills program as a forum for self-exploration for the younger generation to improve positive behavior. Developing life skills through physical activity can improve skills that aim to grow, expand and increase the potential of students in the future. Structured physical education and sports are deliberately designed to produce quality programs that have the potential to encourage positive youth development. Life skills development programs need to be modified into fun games, one of which is a well-planned sports program. This study examines life skills education; aims to obtain data describing the life skills education system, its learning process, and its learning outcomes in continuous physical activities. This study uses quantitative methods. The design used is the Randomized Pretest and Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were sports coaching students studying at Universitas Negeri Padang. The sample of this research was taken by using randomized sampling in this study and was divided into two groups (treatment and control). Each group consists of 50 people. The implementation of the physical activity-based life skills program will be carried out on students who are taking introductory athletic courses. The results of this study explain that the treatment group has a better score than the other groups. The result of the research indicates that life skills education programs have the potential to protect children from possible negative influences, and threats to everyday life, as a way to maximize adolescent development towards a brighter future.
