With the deep research of semantic Web, people are more and more concerned with the problem of representing and retrieving information content on the Web. The ontology language layer building on top of RDF schema is used to formally describe the meaning of ...
The goal ofSemantic web ensures that the computer is able to recognize the web data and thus can offer people with a variety of intelligence service. Linked Data is the data of today's web. As time passes the world is changing and the technologies are developing in the same way, the computers are developing and from the isolated version they have been entered in the field of networks of information exchange. As the data available on the web is increasing, it is becoming difficult to handle it and retrieve it relevantly, so semantic web helps to search semantically as data on it is available in form of linked data(ontology). In this paper we have proposed an ontology on education with the help of protégé tool.

With the advancement of science and the rise of information throughout the history of human civilization, the need for more effective storage and retrieval of this information has become increasingly significant. Therefore, through the scientific evolution, storage and retrieval tools were also evolved and shifted gradually from the keyword matching system toward meaning. The emergence of these tools, from ancient manual lists to the thematic headings in the nineteenth-century as well as thesauruses in the twentieth-century, illustrates such developments. Finally, with the arrival of computer sciences and digital environment specially web in the late twentieth century, the paradigm changed from the traditional storage and retrieval tools and based on keyword matching towards the tools of semantic relationship explanation, since with the emergence of the semantic web today, the use of ontologies has become crucial for the semantic and conceptual retrieval of information and knowledge on the Web. Among the conducted studies, there are only a few studies that have examined the history and foundations of ontology formation from the beginning and focused on its concept and application in the field of information. Accordingly, the current paper first deals with foundation of ontology formation, concept, and evolution from the beginning until now through a library research method and documentary research method, and then explains the place of ontologies in the field of information and retrieval of information especially semantic web.
Ontology Creation and Development Model
International Journal of Innovative Research in Computer and Communication Engineering, 2014
The continuing need for effective information retrieval, paved way for the inception of semantic web. It’s, unquestionably, as extension to the existing web which holds distributed information lacking any logical relationships amongst themselves. This information can be integrated and related to each other using ontologies. The paper intends to bridge this gap by providing a brief idea of ontology creation and how can it help in implementation of semantic web. The paper has threefold objective. Firstly the paper provides multiple definitions of ontology and their relation with in semantic web. Secondly the paper briefly provides a comparison of several ontology development tools justifies the use of a particular ontology tool. Lastly the paper proposes an ontology on data structures.
Ontologies have become a popular research topic in many communities. In fact, ontology is a main component of this research; therefore, the definition, structure and the main operations and applications of ontology are provided. Web content consists mainly of distributed hypertext and hypermedia, and is accessed via a combination of keyword based search and link navigation. Hence, the ontology can provide a common vocabulary, and a grammar for publishing data, and can supply a semantic description of data which can be used to preserve the ontologies and keep them ready for inference. This paper provides basic concepts of semantic web, and defines the structure and the main applications of ontology.

OWL web ontology language overview
2004
Abstract The OWL Web Ontology Language is designed for use by applications that need to process the content of information instead of just presenting information to humans. OWL facilitates greater machine interpretability of Web content than that supported by XML, RDF, and RDF Schema (RDF-S) by providing additional vocabulary along with a formal semantics. OWL has three increasingly-expressive sublanguages: OWL Lite, OWL DL, and OWL Full.
