Sustainability usually refers to the ability to maintain a certain standard of human lifestyle without causing environmental damage or any other destruction to nature and biodiversity. CHALLENGES OF ALBANIAN GOVERNMENT TOWARDS SUSTAINABLE TOURISM
Tourism is a major event which becomes a promoter for the development of many areas. Albania is a country which contain large natural values, evaluated not only from the scientific point of view and declared protected by law, but also large tourism potential. Rich nature, clean environment, the hospitality of the inhabitants, and numerous types of tourism are some of the assets that favor the development of sustainable tourism. Current development of tourism has progressed positive depending from various factors. The purpose of the article focuses on the study is to evaluate the immediate problems in front of government for sustainable tourism development.
Sustainable tourism development – analysis of tourism development in Kosovo

The purpose of this article is to provide a theoretical overview of sustainable tourism as a tourism system that focuses on qualitative development, taking into account the quality of life and prosperity of the population, without causing damage in other aspects. The theoretical part deals with sustainable tourism and sustainable development. Based on these facts, it turns out that sustainable tourism is a subgroup of sustainable development. Thus, in this article there are given the differences between these two terms and other terms relevant to our research. It also provides an analysis of tourism development in Kosovo, including statistics on how much the tourism sector is financially supported by the Kosovo Government. Finally, a SWOT analysis of the current state of tourism in Kosovo is presented.
Tourism and Sustainable Development Opportunities in the Municipality of Istog - Republic of Kosovo

Purpose-The resarch aims to reflect the possibilities of tourism development in the territory of the municipality of Istog. As an attractive field with an extraordinary impact on not only the economic development of this region, requires the identification of factors and opportunities for sustainable development. Methodology/Design/Approach-The collection of data and facts research and qualitative analysis, research based on primary data, effectiveness of communication, observation method and secondary data. For the generation of primary data, we used the questionnaire which contains 10 questions.150 respondents answered the questionnaire. The descriptive approach of natural attractions and beauties. Findings-As a result of this analysis of tourism aspects in Istog, it is in the direct interest of the area and local authorities that natural resources are used in the most careful and far-sighted way for the development of tourism, creating well-being and long-term development. Awareness and the development of a tourist culture are aspects that will bring Istog and its surroundings the possibility of developing sustainable tourism. Originality of the research-We protect the originality of the work with our integrity.
Tourism is an important subsystem of the Albanian economy, considering a key factor of regional development and economic growth. To ensure the long –term success of the tourism destination on the international tourism market, it has to operate according to the principles of sustainability. The focus of many contemporary studies from the tourism development literature has been on the need of implementing development policies that are based on the principles of sustainable development. The destination can be sustainable and competitive if it attempts to reach a compromise regarding the interests of all the stakeholders. Stakeholder engagement and participatory practice is increasingly becoming a part of mainstream practice and central public policy decision making and delivery related to sustainable tourism. Sustainable development and the application of its principles to Albanian tourism are more important now than ever. It should be examined from the points of view of the key stakeholders: tourists, the local people, the tourism businesses and the professionals involved in the tourism industry.

Tourism today plays a big role in the development and sustainable growth. Its role is highlighted in the sustainability of economic development of the country. In the global economy, its role is increasingly being seen as a sector with multi-dimensional effects such as: economic, environmental and social effects. Kosovo, in terms of tourism resorts, has five touristic regions constituting an offer to diversify touristic resort market: competitive on the local and regional market. Albanian Alps Touristic Region (the case of this study), has significant advantages compared to other touristic regions of Kosovo in terms of tourism resources available for sustainable development of tourism. Current studies by local and international tourism institutions show the possibilities of tourism development in Kosovo, with a special emphasis on tourism region of Albanian Alps. Balkan yeasts include three countries: Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro. The potential in tourism in these three countries has been put at the service of regional tourism offer in the regional tourism market and beyond. Today, tourism is increasingly turning into a key sector of the economy to generate financial revenues and create opportunities for new jobs. One of many struggles faced by Kosovo's tourism economy today is identifying a genuine strategy to develop the tourism product, and the use of marketing strategies that will orient towards sustainable tourism development. Thus, the aim of this study is to analyse the role of public institutions towards the sustainable growth through tourism. Public institutions, including ministries and municipalities responsible for tourism development in Kosovo are ten. Research was conducted in the period May to July 2014.

The need to conserve the natural resources and biodiversity provokes deployment of the idea of sustainable development, part of which is sustainable tourism. It expresses the balance between the achievement of economic effectiveness and prosperity, social welfare, culture diversity and maintenance of ecological equilibrium in a given destination. At the heart of the issue of sustainable tourism stands fair distribution of costs and benefits from touristic activity. Sustainable tourism is an integrated picture of human and natural well-being and its achievement depends on a number of economic, institutional and social factors. Among them stands out the application of innovative energy efficient technologies, adaptive management, marketing of conservation, rational consumption and institutional planning, regulation and control. Significant importance for the development of sustainable tourism has education, conscious social choice and participation of all stakeholders.
