In visual secret sharing (VSS) secret image is encrypted in shares, with each participate involved in technique holding one or more shares, all the shares are required to reveal any information. The shares may appear as noise like pictures and will arouse suspicion and increase interception risk during transmission. Thus VSS scheme suffer from a transmission risk. With increasing number of shares, it becomes more difficult to manage the share. The proposed scheme shared secret image by generating only two noise like color shares using natural image.

A multiple-level visual secret-sharing scheme without image size expansion

In traditional VSS schemes, the size of the share image is substantially expanded since each pixel of the secret image is mapped onto a block consisting of several pixels. In addition, the quality of the reconstructed secret image is normally degraded in contrast, especially for halftone images. This study proposes a VSS scheme that maps a block in a secret image onto one corresponding equal-sized block in each share image without image size expansion. Two types of techniques, including histogram width-equalization and histogram depth-equalization, are proposed to generate the corresponding share blocks containing multiple levels rather than two levels based on the density of black pixels on the blocks for a secret block. In the former technique, the gray-scale image histogram is obtained by uniformly splitting the range of the pixel gray levels in the secret image, while in the latter the buckets are created so that the area of each bucket is roughly constant by containing approximately the same number of pixels. The proposed schemes significantly improve the quality of the reconstructed secret image compared to several previous investigations.
TRANSMISSION OF SECRET IMAGE USING VISUAL SECRET SHARING SCHEME
Conventional visual secret sharing (VSS) scheme hide secret image in shares that are printed on transparencies. The shares appear as noise-like pixels or as meaningful images. It suffers from a management problem and increases the interception risk during the transmission phase of the shares. Hence, the transmission risk problem for the secret occurs. To address this problem, a natural-image based VSS scheme is proposed to share the secret image. The (n, n)-NVSS scheme shares one secret image over n-1 selected natural images(also called natural shares) and one generated noise-like share. The natural shares may be photos or hand-painted pictures in digital form. The noise-like share is obtained using these natural shares and the digital secret image. The unaltered natural shares are different and not harmful thus reducing the transmission risk problem.

The secret image can be recovered basically by stacking the shares lacking any complex calculation concerned. However previous approach suffers a safety, pixel extension and noise trouble. The projected scheme consists of two phases. The input secret image generates the n meaningless shares based on General access structure algorithm is complete in the primary phase, at the sender side. The envelop images are added in every share honestly by using stamping algorithm and scattered the embedded images to the participants, in the second phase. The entrenched images can be processed to haul out the layer images from the generated shares and the secret images can be retrieved by overlapping the shares in the accurate order, at the receiver side. The secret word verification is also provided at both the sender and receiver side. The proposed system provides high security, increase in the number of shares and reduce the pixel expansion problem and high resolution to visualize the secret image
Visual Secret Sharing with a Secure Approach
Visual Secret Sharing scheme (VSS) is used to encryption of secret image into n shares, which are distributed to n participant. Secret image is converted into binary format that having no visual meaning which hinder the objective of visual cryptography. The obtained binary image is further divided into n shares of random pattern. We can able to obtain secret image by superimposing qualified subset of shares but unable to obtain by superposition of forbidden subset. With the help of Visual cryptography we can decrypt secret image without knowledge of cryptography & complex computation. With the help of new advanced Techniques, shares carries visual information to viewer& also obtained visual quality is better than any other method. Visual Cryptography can be used in number of applications such as access control, authentication, identification, copyright protection and watermarking.

There are various criteria which decide the performance of visual secret sharing scheme like type and number of shares pixel expansion, security accuracy, computational complexity, share generated is meaningful or meaningless, type and numbers of secret images encrypted by the scheme. These share are reveal the secret image to supposed to be printed on transparences and after stacking them to each other. This paper focus and analyze of different visual secret sharing technique with respect to application and pros and cons of technique is also present.
