WAVELET BASED COLOR IMAGE WATERMARKING
A good quality watermarking scheme should have maximum PSNR, ideally Correlation Factor equals to 1and should have maximum watermark information hiding capacity. In this paper, copyright protection is proposed for a new colour image watermarking scheme. It is based on embedding multiple watermark bits into the luminance component or the blue component of a colour image in discrete wavelet domain. The intend scheme uses image normalization technique to reduce the effect of synchronization errors caused by geometric attacks. The extraction process does not require the original image. The scrambled watermark is embedded in middle frequency sub band. The security levels are increased by generating PN sequence which is depending on periodicity of watermark image. The image scrambling is applied by using Arnold Transform. The decomposition is done with the help of ‘Haar’ which is simple, symmetric and orthogonal wavelet and the direct weighting factor is used in watermark embedding and extraction process. The scheme results in exact recovery of watermark with standard database images of size 512x512, giving Correlation Factor equals to 1. The PSNR with weighting factor 0.02 is up to 48.51 dBs. The presented scheme is non blind and embeds binary watermark of 64x64 size.
Robust Image Watermarking Scheme Based on Wavelet Technique
2011
In this paper, an image watermarking scheme based on multi bands wavelet transformation method is proposed. At first, the proposed scheme is tested on the spatial domain (for both a non and semi blind techniques) in order to compare its results with a frequency domain. In the frequency domain, an adaptive scheme is designed and implemented based on the bands selection criteria to embed the watermark. These criteria depend on the number of wavelet passes. In this work three methods are developed to embed the watermark (one band (LL|HH|HL|LH), two bands (LL&HH | LL&HL | LL&LH | HL&LH | HL&HH | LH&HH) and three bands (LL&HL&LH | LL&HH&HL | LL&HH&LH | LH&HH&HL) selection. The analysis results indicate that the performance of the proposed watermarking scheme for the non-blind scheme is much better than semi-blind scheme in terms of similarity of extracted watermark, while the security of semi-blind is relatively high. The results show that in frequency domain when the watermark is added ...
Image Watermarking Based on the Discrete Wavelet Transform Statistical Characteristics
EUROCON 2005 - The International Conference on "Computer as a Tool", 2005
The current paper proposes a robust watermarking method for still images that embeds a binary watermark into the detail subbands of the image wavelet transform. The perceptually significant coefficients are selected for each subband using a different threshold. The threshold is computed based on the statistical analysis of the wavelet coefficients. For greater invisibility of the mark, the approximation subband is left unmodified. The watermark is embedded several times to achieve robustness. The method is tested against different types of attacks (lossy compression, AWGN, scaling, cropping, intensity adjustment, filtering and collusion attack). The proposed method was compared with a state-of-the-art watermarking method, highlighting its performances.

With the rapid development in the digital world, the authentication and protection of the data i.e. audio, image, video, is one of the major problem in the present era. Digital watermarking is the technique to provide copyright protection of the data. In past and in recent years many algorithms or schemes have been introduced for copyright protection of images. Among which few are unable to recover the original image after embedding the watermark i.e. the image get distorted during extraction of watermark. And few schemes are reversible in nature. In this paper, we proposed a watermarking scheme in discrete wavelet transform (DWT) domain, which is not only reversible in nature but also robust against various attacks in providing copyright protection of images. In the proposed scheme, watermark is embedded at third and fourth level DWT and extracted watermark is compared with original watermark. Watermarked image is attacked by various types of attacks to check the invisibility, robustness & effectiveness of the scheme. Watermark is extracted from the attacked watermarked image and then compared with original watermark based on normalized correlation to validate the proposed scheme of providing reversibility in digital watermarking. It is useful in various real time applications such as: copyright protection, broadcast monitoring, content archiving, digital fingerprinting, etc.

The technique Digital Watermarking is one of the best method for copyright protection. Protection of digital multimedia content has become an important issue for content owners. Watermarking can be done by using least significant bit (LSB),),discrete wavelet transform(DWT),discrete cosine transform(DCT),discrete Fourier transform(DFT), singular value decomposition(SVD).In this paper the watermarking algorithm based on Discrete wavelet transform are used for embedding and extraction of watermark. In this paper the detail study of watermarking, its type, concept based on discrete wavelet transform are proposed. Firstly features of watermark than categories of digital watermark and watermark based on DWT and their algorithm with performance evaluation matric are proposed. This paper successfully explains the digital watermark technique based on DWT by analyzing various values of PSNR, SNR and MSE.
Simple Image Watermarking Method using Wavelet Transform
The watermarking is a digital process that preserves copyright and ownership of digital media such as audio, video, and images. This process depends on hiding a digital signature in a carrier signal where this signature has to be related to the original signal. In this paper we develop a simple watermarking method operating in the frequency domain for grayscale digital images. The proposed method embeds the message in the LL1 sub-band produced by the Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) of the original image by using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) substitution method. Three cover images were used to test the performance of the proposed method. Different experiments were carried out to test the performance of the proposed method and the results show that little and unnoticeable degradation, while the watermark was recovered perfectly, which is considered an acceptable results.
A wavelet-based image watermarking scheme
Proceedings International Conference on Information Technology: Coding and Computing (Cat. No.PR00540), 2000
A novel robust watermarking scheme based on wavelet transform is presented in this paper. The watermark is embedded into significant triplet of wavelet coefficients in the three lowest detail subband images. The embedding algorithm only needs to modify a small amount of the wavelet coefficients, which leads to very small distortion and guarantees the visual quality of the watermarked image. The performance of the proposed algorithm is tested on a series of normal attacks in image processing, such as JPEG compression, Gaussian noise addition, median filter, etc. The corresponding experimental results show that the proposed watermarking scheme has better performance.
A TECHNIQUE OF WATERMARKING USING WAVELET
A wavelet-based image watermarking scheme is proposed, based on insertion of normally distributed random noise watermark in mid-frequency domain. This new approach provides flexibility in determining the pixel to be watermarked and increases the data hiding capacity. It is easy to implement watermark embedding algorithm as well as the corresponding detection algorithm.
