Exploring the Efficacy of Basketball Shooting: A Comprehensive Analysis of Success Rates
International Journal of Innovative Research in Computer Science and Technology (IJIRCST), 2023
The present study evaluated success rate of basketball shooting for different skill levels. A total of 10 subjects (5 skilled and 5 unskilled) participated in this study. The main goal of the study was to provide the preliminary data for further studies in finding mechanisms of improving shooting success rate during basketball games. This larger constraint is thought to require performers to change their motion control strategy to maintain accuracy and create a tremendous urge to push the ball the moment it is released. Still, many players have difficulty adapting to longer distance shooting. The results suggested that there were main effects of group and distance, but, no interaction effect was found. In conclusion, shooting success rate were affected by distance regardless of skill levels in basketball shooting.

The Effectiveness of the Shotloc Training Tool on Basketball Free Throw Performance and Technique
Background: Shooting technique in young players is dependent on the correct positioning of the hand on the ball during release. The ShotLoc was designed to produce the optimal hand position on the ball for shooting accuracy and correct release. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the ShotLoc shooting device in improving the shooting technique of young elite basketball players. Method: Eighty male and female adolescent basketball players recruited from an Elite Player Development Program were videotaped shooting three free throws and then scored on the number of free throw shots made out of thirty. A number of kinematic shooting variables were measured from the video tape. All participants participated in four 20 minute shooting practice sessions on a once per week basis; the experimental group wore the ShotLoc training tool for all of these practices while the control group practiced normally. All players were then videotaped and scored on the number of free throw shots again. Results: Statistical analysis of free throw percentage showed a 6.6% increase in those participants who were trained with the ShotLoc, while the control group experienced a .6% decrease in shooting percentage. None of the kinematic variables were found to be significantly different between groups, except wrist flexion that increased in the control group following the intervention. Conclusion: the ShotLoc shooting aid could improve free throw shooting percentage following practice using the device.

The aim of this study is to get to know the effects of a suggested training regimen concerning several kinematic characteristics and jump shot (from the left and right side) for basketball beginners, utilizing empirical research by creating two equivalent random groups suitable to the nature of such a study; by selecting a sample of 20 junior players in the field of basketball age group of 13-15 year olds mean 15.1 SD 0.64: A control group and an experimental group, each comprised of 10 members. Our control group was subjected to training using the conventional method, whereas the experimental group underwent the suggested training programme. The results of our study demonstrated that the new training programme yielded a positive effect in improving the values of several kinematic variables (ie velocity, angle and height of ball release). Especially of note was the vertical velocity, one of the most improved variables in basketball jump shots. Furthermore, this study recommends applying the new jump shot training regimen to the Palestinian school teams and junior clubs, as well as the importance of giving attention to the development of physical abilities for the adolescents, and the kinematic variables affecting the jump shot skills among basketball juniors during the training process.
