Multiple Intelligence of Early Children in Creative Dance
International Conference on Elementary Education, 2021
Early Childhood Education (PAUD) activities are designed to optimize all aspects of child development including multiple intelligence. Some of them are kinesthetic intelligence, musical intelligence, interpersonal intelligence, and intrapersonal intelligence. This aspect of multiple intelligences can be developed through creative dance. The purpose of learning creative dance in this study is not to make children professional dancers, but to use it as a learning method. This study aims to describe the dual intelligence of early childhood in the process of implementing creative dance learning. Through a qualitative descriptive research method, the researcher revealed the multiple intelligences of children in the implementation of creative dance learning by a Kindergarten teacher in Purwakarta. The subjects in this study were teachers and early childhood with an age range of 5-6 years, totaling 20 children. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, documentation and strengthened by literature study. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results showed that learning creative dance can develop multiple intelligence in children.
Education Quarterly Reviews, 2022
Abstract The main concern in this study is constituted by the possibility of implementing a music training model which has been developed on the basis of the Multiple Intelligence Theory in the music lessons of the 4th and 5th grades of primary schools. Core study group was formed by 150 fourth and fifth grades students from Ankara Teğmen Kalmaz Primary School and Mamak Primary School and as well as the music teachers working at these schools in 2005-2006 educational period, who were selected by means of a random method. The findings of the research are composed of the pre tests and post tests filled by the students and their teachers as well as the observation sheets used during lessons in which the data about the differences between the traditional method based lessons and the multiple intelligence based lessons have been analyzed by SPSS package program and frequency tables and graphics of the data has been designed, additionally a bilateral relations have been examined by using cross tables. As a result of the study, it has been concluded that the events that activate different intelligence fields are not implemented in the music lessons taught through traditional methods, the creativity of the students has not been improved by different assignments and projects, the teachers do not bring various music-related materials to the classroom and that they do not render the lessons enjoyable. Whereas, it has been understood that in the music lessons based on Multiple Intelligence Theory, the students in the period of concrete process comprehend the abstract concepts of the lesson more effectively by means of plays and different activities, their creativity demonstrates a progress, and that the theory constitute an aid for them in discovering their capabilities. When the model is considered through this aspect, it is clearly obvious that the theory is applicable to the musical training model, the teachers who are to apply the theory should undergo in-service training before the applications, that there might be certain defects during the application of the theory due to physical conditions of the state schools, and that therefore the music rooms and equipment in the state schools should be improved. In the light of these findings, it has been determined that the questionnaire and observation forms produced at the end of the studies could be implemented as an appropriate measure for a research that would be reflected on a general sense and could be practice by schools at various social and economic levels. JPUD - Jurnal Pendidikan Usia Dini
The purpose of this study was to develop dance-based learning media created by Zapin to improve the kinesthetic intelligence of children aged 5-6 years. This study is motivated by the low level of kinesthetic intelligence in children aged 5-6 years because the learning activities carried out by the teacher do not attract children's interest, causing low kinesthetic intelligence in children. In developing creative dance movement learning media using the development stage based on the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The feasibility test was carried out by 2 validators, namely dance experts and ECE experts. The test subjects in this study were children aged 5-6 years in Tanggamus Regency, which consisted of 20 children. Data collection was carried out using interviews, observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The media effectiveness test was carried out using the one-group pretest-posttest method. From the results of the effectiven...

It was rarely the academicians, and practitioners knew how to make the standardized instruments to analyze the student's multiple intelligences. The purpose of this study was to describe the development of a standardized instrument of multiple intelligences for children in elementary school. The research method used was descriptive qualitative. In qualitative research, the research instrument was the researcher himself. The research instrument was not external or objective, but internal or subjective, namely the researcher himself without using tests, questionnaires, or experiments. Therefore the direct presence of researchers was a necessity in qualitative research. The data collection techniques used were observation and documentation. The results obtained in this study were to identify multiple intelligences in 7-12 years old children, we could use standardized instruments based on the classification of children's multiple intelligences. To analyze the development of mult...

The theory of multiple-intelligences initiated by Howard Garner because of dissatisfaction with the education system, which introduced the intelligence quotient test system. The multiple-intelligences philosophy has changed the face of education today because it eliminates the distinction provided by schools to students. The multiple intelligences theory emphasizes that each is different and cannot be forced to be equal. This paper aims to discuss multiple-intelligences on student performance tests in 1st High School Tana Toraja. The author provides performance tests and questionnaire instruments to respondents. The results of the performance test and questionnaire instruments which had completed the performance tests and questionnaire instruments. The results showed that the students of 1st High School Tana Toraja were not optimal in using their intelligence to develop their potential. The reason is that students do not understand clearly the type of multiple-intelligence. Students...
The purpose of the study was to find out if primary school teachers knew that their curriculum was organised according to Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences Theory. The study fell into the qualitative research domain. A case study was used in which only one rural school was purposively selected on the basis of ease of accessibility and convenience to the researchers. All the 11 teachers at the school participated in the study. Interviews and focus groups were used to collect data. The study established that teachers did not know that the primary school curriculum was organised according to multiple intelligences. Teaching concentrated on those subjects that are examined at the end of the seventh year course. Assessment was skewed towards the traditionally valued core subjects like English and Mathematics. Subjects like Art and Design, Music and Physical Education were not assessed at all. However, participants showed their keenness to develop and assess the traditionally neglected subjects if resources, facilities and support were made available.
