Tooth loss impairs quality of life, requiring prosthetic rehabilitation. We aimed to analyze prosthetic status differences between patients at public versus private dental universities in Riyadh across demographics through a retrospective cross-sectional study of 400 edentulous Saudi patients treated with fixed/removable prostheses. Statistical analyses revealed prosthetic disparities by university, gender, socioeconomics, and education (p<0.001). Private university patients utilized more fixed treatments like implants and bridges, while public university patients relied on basic removable dentures. Males preferred removable partial dentures and females had more complete dentures. Higher socioeconomic status associated with greater fixed prosthesis use compared to lower income removable dentures. Uneducated individuals mostly had removable partial dentures while educated patients utilized more complete dentures and implants. Overall, disadvantaged groups demonstrated reduced access to advanced fixed prosthetic options. Reasons for selection pattern differences warrant further qualitative and quantitative research. Targeted initiatives promoting equitable, comprehensive prosthetic access could mitigate demographic prosthetic inequality. This study provides evidence on Saudi prosthetic disparities to inform clinical practices and policy reforms ensuring optimal outcomes for diverse patients.

Introduction: Patient satisfaction in dental prosthetics starts with a better programmation of the treatment plan, which requires a good knowledge of the real needs and demands of patients regarding prosthetic treatment. The aim of this study was to describe the needs and demands of prosthetic treatment in the population followed in the prosthetic department within Casablanca’s Dental Consultation and Treatment Center (DCTC). Material and Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional epidemiological study was conducted in the department of prosthetics of Casablanca’s DCTC using a modified World Health Organization (WHO) questionnaire, 457 patients of both sexes were examined over a 2 months period. Results: The study showed the following results: - From a general epidemiological point of view, women are more likely to attend the DCTC than men with a consultation rate of 60%. Most subjects are young with an age range between 35 and 44 years. The establishment of the Medical Assistance Plan of the Economically Deprived at DCTC attracts patients with low economic income. - Clinical data showed that the function is the main reason behind consultation with 51.6% of applications. More than 65.4% of the subjects have never worn prosthesis in the maxilla and 77.5% in the mandible, mainly because of lack of information or lack of financial resources. Among rehabilated patients, those with removable dentures were most frequently found. An increased total and partial denture despite interest rates need is noted. Conclusion: Using the results of this study would help to establish a health program that takes into account the specific request of the population followed the DCTC to meet their important needs dentures. Introduction: Very few studies have been conducted in the Arcot (Vellore city Tamil Nadu) about the prosthetic status and prosthetic needs of the population. Hence, this study was conducted to determine the prosthetic status and prosthetic needs of general population of Arcot. Additionally, we aimed to correlate the demographic characteristics and socioeconomic status, with the prosthetic status and needs of the general population of Arcot. Materials and Methods: This population based cross-sectional survey was conducted among the general population of Arcot. The population to be studied was selected from the geographical boundaries of Arcot (4 urban and 4 rural). A simple random sampling was carried out. The data was collected from various public places such as schools, households, hospitals, hostels, colleges and various other places of work. All age groups were included in the study so that the results represent the status of the whole sample rather than particular age groups. The questionnaire was prepared which enquired about the age, gender, area of residence, education, occupation, family income, prosthetic status and needs. A single calibrated examiner with the help of an assistant examined the samples. Results: A total number of 7000 subjects were included in the study in which 4702 (67.17%) were males and 32.83% were females. Only subjects with permanent dentition were considered. Most samples ranged from 18 years and above up to 75. As per convenience the sample was regrouped into 14-17 years, 18-34 years, 35-44 years, 45-64 years and 65 years and above age groups. The research aimed at as sess ment of the influence of selected demographic and socioeconomic factors on patient's de ci sionmaking about the treatment of missing teeth using the implants. The survey was conducted among 464 patients of both sexes aged 20-74 years, treated with dental implants at the Non-Public Healthcare Cen tre "Den tal" in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. The patients answered the questions included in an anonymous questionnaire. The questions concerned age, sex, marital status, place of residence, education, occupational status and material status. Most patients taking the decision about dental treatment using the implants were persons aged 40-60 years. Slightly more often men made decisions on supplementing missing teeth using the implants. The results of the survey indicate that financial resources are an important factor influencing a patient's decision on the selection of implant prosthetic treatment, while other analyzed factors have less impact on this decision.
