Efecto De La Velocidad De Deformación y La Temperatura Sobre Las Propiedades Mecánicas De Una Acero De Alta Resistencia (original) (raw)

The influence of strain rate and temperature on the mechanical properties of austenitic TWIP steel has been studied. In order to check the stability of austenite after been deformed or at low temperatures tensile tests have been performed on specimens machined in both longitudinal and long transverse orientation of the sheet. These tests have been carried out in the temperature range between +20 and -30º C at strain rates between 10 -1 and 10 -3 s -1 . Both ultimate tensile strength and elongation are noticeably high while yield strength results relatively low in all the tests. Metallographic study by optical and scanning electron microscopy revealed a marked deformation of the austenite by twinning but no change of phase was detected.
