XOR Encryption Based Video Steganography

In this paper, an XOR encryption based video steganography scheme is put forward which encrypts the text secret message (.txt) and hide it using 1LSB substitution method behind the random frames of video file (.avi). The main motive of this methodology is to protect the confidential information from the attackers by hiding its presence from the human visual system (HVS) and secure the text data from cyber criminals. There are several algorithms are proposed in previous works which are not enough capable to secure the hidden data and are not much efficient for embedding high amount data behind career medium. So this work is used for embedding high payload and to provide security to text data. The result values are simulated on the basis of quality metrics such as PSNR, MSE, BER and histogram analysis.

Video Watermarking Algorithms Using the SVD Transform

Video watermarking is relatively a new technology that has been proposed to solve the problem of illegal manipulation and distribution of digital video. It is the process of embedding copyright information in video bit streams. In this paper, we propose two effective, robust and imperceptible video watermarking algorithms. The two algorithms are based on the algebraic transform of Singular Value Decomposition (SVD). In the first algorithm, watermark bit information are embedded in the SVD-transformed video in a diagonal-wise fashion, and in the second algorithm bits are embedded in a blocks-wise fashion. The performance of the two proposed algorithms was evaluated with respect to imperceptibility, robustness and data payload. Both algorithms showed similar but high level of imperceptibility, however their performance varied with respect to robustness and payload. The diagonal-wise based algorithm achieved better robustness results, while the block-wise algorithm gave higher data payload rate.

This paper presents the concealment of information based on the use videos as a cover to hide the existence of the secret message. The secret message is encrypted using RSA before being embedded in the cover video. This encrypted secret message is then embedded in predetermine locations using Lest Significant Bits (LSB), and real part of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Finally inverse Discrete Fourier Transform (IDFT) is applied. The locations are cubic spline control points which are derived from detection the edge upon using (prewitt and canny). These control points are dynamically changed with each video frame to reduce the possibility of statistically identifying the locations of the secret message bits, even if the original cover video is made available to the interceptor. The proposed method is evaluated in terms of the Average Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (APSNR), as well as the Average Mean Square Error (AMSE) measured between the original and steganography video. Results show minimal degradation of the steganography video for secret message.

The quick development of data transmission through the internet made it easier to send and receive the data accurately and in a faster way between the source and the destination. One of the most significant factors of the information technology and data communication is the security of the information. For security objectives the concept of steganography is being used. The importance of steganography is that it avoids drawing suspicion to the existence of a hidden message. Over the past few years, numerous steganography techniques that embed hidden messages in multimedia objects have been proposed. These techniques hide information or messages in images in such a manner that the alterations made to the image are perceptually invisible. In this paper, we proposed an image based steganography technique that combines cryptography and steganography and depends on modifying the pixel values slightly to contain the hidden data. Our main objectives are to enhance the security of the communication, maximize the embedding capacity and achieve a high degree of flexibility and invisibility.

A NOVEL METHOD FOR VIDEO STEGANOGRAPHIC SECURITY USING HAMMINGCODE

Due to rapid increase of exchange of large data with technological advancements, video steganography is becoming the better solution for offering greater security for large data. In this paper, an enhanced and secured video steganography algorithm is proposed. Hamming code encoding technique and embedding process in DWT domain are the main key concepts used for the project. At embedding phase, initially secret message is secured by encrypting using a key. Then the secret message is encoded using Hamming code. To ensure furthermore security, secret message is XORed with the random value generated by a private key. The processed secret message is then embedded into middle and high frequency DWT coefficients of selected frames of video. For extraction, reverse process takes place. However, for extracting the secret message, keys should be known. This additional feature of using keys makes the technique more robust. The performance parameters like Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Mean Square Error (MSE) are calculated to determine the quality of stego video. The obtained results have shown that the proposed algorithm for steganography is highly secured with good perceptual invisibility.
