Stress is a universal element and people face stress in every walk of life. On the topic workplace stress, a lot of research has been done and it have been prove that high level of workplace stress leads to a negative impact on employee's mental and physical health and also affects employee's performance in the organization. In Life Insurance sector employee's economic benefits are based on their sales target as basic salary is provided to them which are not based on target achievement. This paper is an attempt to measure the level of stress on the basis of job satisfaction, working condition, social and technological factors which are the components of job stress that affect employees performance and which is measured by the structured questionnaire.

A REVIEW ON THE IMPACT OF JOB STRESS TOWARDS JOB SATISFACTION AND JOB PERFORMANCE

Managing job stress is a challenging task in any companies. Failure or unable to manage and control job stress may lead to many problems in the workplace. Job stress can be considered as an unpleasant emotional situation that employee experience when the requirement of work-related or not related cannot be counter balance with the ability to resolve them. Job stress has been identified by most of the academic researches as the factor which had contributed to higher or lower job satisfaction and performance. Issues like health problems, role ambiguity, home interference as well as management role and work pressure are among the stress factors which have always been debated as most common problems. This study will examine the job stress factors that may impact the job satisfaction and performance. Therefore, the findings from this paper should be sufficient to conduct future research on the impact of job stress on job satisfaction and job performance.

IMPACT OF STRESS ON WORK PERFORMANCE OF EMPLOYEES

In today's age of automation, advanced technology & high competition, man has great dreams of a luxurious living & enjoys at the thought of experiencing it. It is a well-accepted fact that every human being is an individual with his own unique characteristics & ways of responding & behaving. These various ways of responding & behaving can be either positive or negative & these can make one's life a happy or a miserable one. These facts are true for every individual in every sphere of life. In today's fast moving world every individual strives hard to achieve their dreams & the best of luxurious living but faces stress in the process of doing so. The present study will bring to light the stress level, sources of stress & stress management strategies.

Strength of factors responsible for job stress and its' impact on workers' performance

It is general prediction which is proved by research that employee feels stress while working in an organization which is caused by different factors that carries negative impact on workers' productivity. Stress can be described as psychological unsafe feeling which comes into existence when employees' skills, abilities and working conditions not according to job requirements. Researchers have explored different factors those are responsible for stress in organizations and having harmful effect on workers' productivity. In this study seven factors of stress: Qualification mismatch, workload, job and family equilibrium, boss attitude, job autonomy, job security and career ambiguity are observed. Main objective of this study to examine was how strongly these factors are responsible for stress and how strongly stress effect workers' productivity. To achieve objective structured questionnaire used to collect information from 146 employees of different organizations from different sectors located in different cities i.e. Islamabad, Faisalabad, Lahore and Toba Tek Singh. Consequently study revealed that all factors are not equally responsible for stress and stress distorts workers' productivity.

Stress is as a state of cerebral and poignant pressure or strain, caused by exigent state of affairs. It is a force that set of laws an individual's judgment and deeds. The major rationale of the study is to analyze the reasons for the stress of an individual to analyze the methods en route for overcome the stress of employees and to identify the consequences of stress. The need for the study is to recognize how the individual performs when stress echelon is high and how they are overcoming it. Job stress, within the framework of workplace health, refers to a physiological clause in which work-related duties and responsibilities become onerous and overwhelming to the point that it imposes detrimental effects on the mental and physical wellness of employees. The impact of stress in the workplace on the workers physical health, mental well-being and effectiveness in the workplace has been increasingly documented in recent years. In competitive era, tension and stress have become a part of a life. This study aspire to survey the factors causing stress, the collision of stress and identifying way for reducing stress by using Chi Square Test, ANOVA , Correlation and Regression tools.

This study aims to determine the effect of job stress on job satisfaction in employees of the Population and Civil Registration Office of Blora Regency. The research was conducted in the Population and Civil Registration Office of Blora Regency with a total of 50 employees. Sampling technique is purposive sampling. Data collection tool used to measure job stress is the scale of aspects according to Parken and DeCotiis (1983) made in the form of 13 aitem statements. As for job satisfaction using Job Satisfaction Survey (JSS) in Spector (1997) made in 36 statements. This study uses linear regression analysis technique with 1,264 results on the variable Job Stress (X) is positive value so it can be said that the variable Job Stress has a positive influence on Job Satisfaction (Y). The results showed that job stress became predictor of job satisfaction with a value of R² = 0.432, p < 0.05. That is, job stress has an influence on job satisfaction.

ANTECEDENTS OF JOB STRESS AND ITS IMPACT ON JOB SATISFACTION

Achieving the pleasures of successful work place is an art of coping with stress. Job stress is a very substantial issue at work place in this new era of competence. So this research is significantly emphasized on causes and effects of job stress and analyze its impact upon job satisfaction. This study also identifies the root causes of job stress (like work overload, role ambiguity, role conflict) and their influence on employees wellbeing, behavior and contribution towards effectiveness. A questionnaire (scales consisting thirty two items) is developed to assess the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction on the basis of Regression and ANOVA analysis. The findings describe very significant results between the variables. There is a very significant positive correlation between work overload and job stress and same is true for role conflict and role ambiguity. The negative correlation is found between job stress and job satisfaction. All the instruments and scales are taken from the standard sources. The results of study can be beneficial for the wide range of organizations, institutions, companies and departments for the better understanding of behavior and wellbeing of the employee's. Practical implications of results are also having a very significant importance for training concern organizations. This research suggests the direction for future recommendation on the relationship between job stress and organizational performance more concisely and briefly.

Organizations are the congregation of the people. Development of human resources is a key managerial responsibility. Raw human resource can only make limited contribution towards organizational goal achievement. Any development strategy should be oriented towards the continued well-being of human race. Nowadays, the impact of stress on the well being of the employees has gained much importance. It can be regarded as a new dimension of H.R.D. A good H.R.D department is characterized not only by its concern to enhance the contributory efficiency or effectiveness of its employees but also its genuine concern to improve its employees well being. A good instrument to ensure or measure an employee’s well-being is stress-audit! As stress affects all at some time or, a H.R.D. department should have its focus on measuring and taking steps to combat stress. Stress is characterized by the body’s nonspecific response to the varying demands that are placed upon it. Stress is the wear and tear our bodies experience as we adjust to our continually changing environment; it had physical and emotional effects on us and can create positive or negative feelings. As a positive influence, stress can help compel us to action; it can result in a new awareness and an exciting new perspective. As a negative influence, it can result in feelings of distrust, rejection, anger, and depression, which in turn can lead to health problems such as headaches, upset stomach, rashes, insomnia, ulcers, high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. In this new millennium, flexibility is still one of the most important success factors for industrial organizations. Due to the fast changing environment e.g., volatility of demand there is a need for agile manufacturing systems, to maintain sustainable competitiveness and to gain a competitive advantage. Employees are still the most flexible actor in production and operations management. Employees are the most important resource of an organization and developing those leads to the growth of both the employees and the organization as a whole. Stress can be insidious and cumulative stress affects organization as well as the individuals within them. The best way to avoid suffering from stress is to learn to anticipate it.
