COVID-19 has tested the organizational capacity of the education system in Mozambique, including the higher education level when it became mandatory to close all face-to-face teaching activities. To respond to this challenge and continue with the noble mission of teaching, the Catholic University of Mozambique implemented a hybrid model, specifically through digital platforms, even though it was aware of the various resource limitations on the part of teachers and students. This strategy would be determinant for a successful path to the purpose of "never stop teaching and learning." This paper attempts to answer questions that arose at introducing this new teaching model during the COVID-19: (i) What skills did teachers have to respond to ICT-mediated teaching? (ii) What strategies were used to circumvent the difficulties arising from COVID-19 for Teaching and Learning? (iii) What kind of skills, difficulty, and behaviour characterized the students to correspond to a 100% online teaching system? and (iv) What platforms and instruments were used to respond to this teaching model? The paper first seeks answers from exploratory interviews with teachers about the use of ICTs in teaching and learning and subsequently presents some challenges in three dimensions (institutions, teachers, and students) of which their consideration can lead to a path in the immersion of the technologization of teaching. In methodological terms, a qualitative approach was used, where interviews were conducted with a sample of teachers from this university who were part of the frontline of the process. The results show that for the case study, it was possible, to teach and learn through Moodle platforms, Google Classroom, interacting through Zoom, Google Meet, and using Skype as a communication tool with students.

Factors Influencing Use Of Technology By Higher Education Teachers And Impact Of Covid-19
Journal of emerging technologies and innovative research, 2020
The use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has acquired immense prominence in the field of education over the last two decades. Many past researches have revealed that students accept technology easily, but implementation of the same by the teachers has been inconsistent with the requirements. This paper aims to analyse the critical factors which influence the use of technology in higher education by teachers inside and outside the classroom, with focus on differing attitudes of teachers towards use of technology for education. Moreover, at the time of the paper being written, most of the countries in the world were going through Covid-19 lockdown which has made us realise that use of technology is not optional anymore-it is THE only means to impart education in such situations where physical classrooms are not a possibility. For the purpose of this paper, data from primary as well as secondary sources was generated and analysed. The results indicate an overall positive attitude of the teachers in using ICT, but a lot more needs to be done to overcome the challenges.

The arrival of Covid-19 put the entire population on alert, especially the education sector, managing to face despair with confinement measures and virtual solutions to resurface and excel with education. The objective of this research is to analyze, describe and know the perspectives that Information and Communication Technology imposed to develop the teaching-learning process. The research design is descriptive, cross-sectional, quantitative and qualitative in some aspects of the research, a sample of 104 teachers surveyed from two national universities in the Piura region was collected. The surveys were conducted anonymously, voluntarily and online. The measurement instrument is made up of three parts: digital skills, the use of Information and Communication Technologies and the barriers that teachers faced when developing their virtual classes. Resulting in an intermediate level in digital skills. Teachers, when developing their classes virtually, did not develop their level of digital competence due to a lack of "willingness" to be trained, while the frequency in the use of Information and Communication Technologies is of habitual use. Concluding that teachers managed to update themselves with technological advances and interact with WhatsApp, social networks, various platforms as well as the academic community learned to carry out collaborative work by learning to use the Driver, MS Office, Office 365, OneDrive and online presentations with the support of virtual environments.

The education system is the main source of human resource development. Its focus is on the acquisition of knowledge, self-learning, generic and transferable skills in communication, entrepreneurship, management and technology that are the characteristics of the learning society of today. From last two decades use of technology for teaching and learning has received a lot of attention. Teachers play a vital role in the adoption and implementation of ICT in education. The present study is an attempt to investigate the use of new technologies in secondary teachers. The main objective of the study is to identify the attitude of male and female teachers towards using new technology. For the present study the method of data collection was primarily done through questionnaire surveys on secondary school teachers of different discipline. 120 secondary school teachers were selected for data collection through random sampling technique. Standardized questionnaire was used in the study. The results revealed that there is no significant difference between male and female secondary school teachers in accessing new technologies. The findings also indicated that there is a positive attitude in accessibility and functionality in using new technologies among secondary school teachers.
Learners’ Accessibility and Adaptability to Technology
2017
This paper aims to describe the dynamics of learners in the use of technology specifi cally the internet, social media, and mobile devices in class and how they adapt to new technology and access information given of a new learning environment. This study used the qualitative method and an interview guide validated by identified experts was used to gather data from the twenty participants using purposive sampling. Results revealed that learners used technology as portal of knowledge wherein they can store and share documents, access lecture materials, view class announcements and submit class activities. The availability of online information motivates the learner to learn new concepts, and thereby promoted self-directed and independent learning. Learner shares signifi cant information wherein they collaborate and interact online using chat, messages, video call, and email. Unnecessary information on social media like spam, advertisements, negative post tends to distract the learner...
21 st century has been accurately termed as the century of rapid improvement and development in every field. Due to COVID-19 pandemic faculties were closed and online educational platforms were used, which caused the process of transferring from conventional learning to online learning at majority of higher educational institutions across the world. The aim of this research was to examine types of technology students of Faculty for special education and rehabilitation own, types of technology their faculty owns, self-perceived level of proficiency in using certain programs, students' satisfaction with certain services or spaces provided to them by their faculty, students' belief in usefulness of certain aspects of technology use at their faculty, perception of usefulness of particular technologies at their faculty, as well as their opinions about technology use during lectures. The sample included 156 students and the survey distributed to respondents was a survey designed by Honeychurch & McCluckie (2007). Almost all respondents own smartphone (97.4%) and a computer, while only 26.3% of the sample owns tablet device. The programs that students believe their level of proficiency in using is excellent are internet (53.2%) and email (41%). The students are not satisfied with faculty spaces and services. Majority of the sample believes that using technology can help them in all aspects of their studies and that technology is the most useful in making them feel more connected to their peers. We recommend replicating this research again now, since the study was conducted when the COVID-19 pandemic started. We believe it is important for students, as well as teaching staff to be properly trained on how to use technology.
