Transportation is extremely important in contributing to the life quality development of urban areas. However, it has influenced negatively on individuals and the environment due to carbon emissions and gases. Worldwide, organizations and countries are exploring a solution and have developed Electric Vehicles (EVs) as the best possible solution. Electric vehicles emit no exhaust emissions and are powered by batteries. The adoption rate of EVs in rich countries is increasing year after year, while consumer adoption intention of EVs in poor countries is quite low, particularly in Malaysia. The ownership percentage of Internal Combustion Engine Vehicles (ICEs) in Malaysia is 93 percent, placing it near the top of the globe, but EV adoption is just about 3.5 percent. Environmental sustainability has become an urgent problem that cannot be avoided and ignored. The transportation sector is the main cause of greenhouse gas emissions. Many suggest electric vehicles (EVs) as a mechanism for reducing environmental degradation since EVs release less greenhouse gas as compared to combustion cars. Modelling electric vehicle usage intentions: an empirical study in Malaysia
In the new global economy, carbon emission has become an important worldwide issue. One key reason for this is the magnification of the transport sector, as millions of gasoline-based vehicles are plying on roads producing carbon emission throughout day and night. In order to impede these vulnerabilities and promote a more sustainable economy, one solution is to switch from gasoline-based vehicles to using green technology vehicles. There is growing agreement that electrification and the ability to 'decarbonize' this sector seems to be significant, as it helps to mitigate the high reliance on fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions. The introduction of electric vehicles has led the automotive industry to a whole new echelon, one with zero fuel dependency and increased fuel efficiency. While the usage of greener and cleaner vehicles, such as electric vehicles, is well supported with government policies and programmes, it is surprising that little information is divulged about the public acceptance of electric vehicles from the social perspective. Public acceptance and diffusion of this new green technology is relatively fresh and unknown in Malaysia. In fact, public acceptance can appear as a prevailing obstacle for market diffusion and encumber the development of technology adoption. The rationale of this paper is to conduct an exploration to determine the key predictors affecting the usage of electric vehicles acceptance in Malaysia. Malaysia has been referred to here, as electric vehicles are just being introduced as one of the initiatives to encourage a low fossil carbon technology within the transportation sector. More specifically, an empirical study using a survey questionnaire was distributed to 1000 private vehicle drivers in Malaysia. An electric vehicle usage model was proposed based on a literature review and a multiple regression model. The results demonstrated that electric vehicles acceptance in Malaysia can be explained as being significantly related to social influences, performance attributes, financial benefits, environmental concerns, demographics, infrastructure readiness and government interventions. In addition, the study offers a valuable wealth of information on the public acceptance of automotive players planning to market electric vehicles in Malaysia. It also offers sensible guidelines for the formulation of marketing strategies that will address the real wants and needs of future electric vehicles users. In the meanwhile, policy-makers should concentrate on the appropriate intervention and policy to encourage the development of electric vehicles as part of the strategy towards a transition to a low carbon society in Malaysia.

This study aims to develop and empirically test a derivation of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) on the acceptance of electric vehicles (EV). Theoretical Approach/Method: The analysis was based on an original theoretical model adapted from the TAM, a theory based on information systems that models how users start to accept and use a given piece of technology. An online questionnaire applied to graduate students in Brazil was used, and the answers were analyzed using structural equations. The final sample consisted of 209 graduate students from three universities in Brazil. The data collection instrument was validated by Confirmatory Factor Analysis. For the hypothesis test, path analysis was used. Results: The results indicated a positive relationship between the intentions of use of electric vehicles and the perceptions about Ease of Use, Green Utility, and Potential Infrastructure Readiness. The results also showed that there is no evidence of a direct positive relationship between the Environmental Concern factor and the intention to use EVs. Theoretical and managerial contributions: The original theoretical model proposed and tested here contributes to the TAM theory. By studying factors that stimulate or encourage the purchase intention and potential consumer behavior of EVs in the Brazilian market, it contributes to future management and governmental policies in this segment.
Exploring Factors Influencing Electric Vehicle Usage Intention: An Empirical Study in Malaysia

The rationale of this study is to investigate the factors influencing electric vehicle usage intention in Malaysia. Empirical study using survey questionnaires are distributed to a judgment sampling of 500 drivers in Selangor and Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya). A research model based on the Theory of Planned Behavior was proposed as the underlying framework to realize the objective of the study. Linear regression-stepwise technique was used to test the research hypotheses. The results finding indicated that the electric vehicle usage intention in Malaysia is very much influenced by Environmental Concern, Consumer Knowledge, Psychological Benefits and Demographics. Hence, this paper provides valuable information for automotive players planning to market electric vehicles in Malaysia. This study aims to operationalize the theory of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) with self-image motives as symbolic meaning for Electric Vehicle (EVs) adoption. EVs in urban city like Jakarta is expected to grow in near future, the vehicle contributes to the reduction of air pollution and greenhouse. Unlike the conventional, EVs has emerged as sustainable transportation one. However, switching mode speed of consumer mobility and the acceptance of new technology is still undefinable and required to explore deeply on the potential buyer segments of EVs based on integrative approach of 'perceived benefits-attitude-intention'. This research applied the theory of TAM to construct the model of EVs adoption. The mediating role of pro-environmental motives and pro-innovative motives are examined. This study also aims to synthesize evidence on self-image in various aspects of electric vehicle motives. Data were collected from various Scopus database indexed from 2019-2023 and direct in-dept interview with EVs drivers to set an agenda of debate on self-image and adoption of electric vehicle. The findings confirm that the consumer intention to adopt EVs were significant and positively effects the attitude. They are two distinct sets of consumer motives toward EVs adoption are proenvironmentalist and pro-innovativeness. This study provides new grounding for the existing EVs literature. The implications are recommended, which may offer deeper insight for policymaker and prominent scholars to encourage EVs adoption and direct the future research for global urban city.
DRIVER INTENTION TO USE ELECTRIC CARS USING TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTANCE MODEL
A systematic transportation system is vital for the development of a country. In Malaysia, the high dependence on private cars is caused by inadequate public transport that does not meet the general needs of commuters. This study was conducted to identify the factors that contributed to drivers' intention to use electric cars as a greener alternative to fuel-powered vehicles. To explore this issue, Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was employed to predict acceptance of electric cars based on driver intention. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 217 car drivers in the Batu Pahat district. Correlation and regression analyses were performed to determine the relationship between the TAM constructs and the intention to use electric car. Results showed that all contructs were found to be statistically significant. In addition, Perceived Ease of Use was a stronger factor that contributed to drivers' acceptance to use electric cars compared to Perceived Usefulness. The level of the acceptance was highly positive.
PERSPECTIVE OF TECHNOLOGICAL ACCEPTANCE MODEL TOWARD ELECTRIC VEHICLES
The invention of electric vehicles (EVs) is a leap in the fields of automobile industry, rationalization of energy and conservation of the environment. This study focuses on adapting the model of acceptance of technology to identify consumer's behavior on the use of EV. The technology acceptance model was developed by Fred Davis (1989). The study community consists of 550 consumers from Amman city, the results show there is strong relation between independent variables (Perceived usefulness, Attitude toward using EV, Perceived ease of Use EV, Perceived the challenges of use) and the dependent variable (EV Use), where the value of the coefficient indicator is positive (0.415) and the value of the calculated F is (21.767), which is greater than the tabular value (2.89), and the moral value is (0.0), which is less than (0.05). This is an indicator that there is statistical impact for independent factors on consumer behavior.
