Image Copy Move Forgery Detection: A Review (original) (raw)

Recent Block-based Methods of Copy-Move Forgery Detection in Digital Images

2015

Photographs are taken as valid evidences in various scenarios of our day to day life. Because of the developments in the field of Image Processing, altering images according to ones need is not a difficult task. Techniques of Image Forensics play its crucial role at this juncture. One of the mostly found types of image tampering is Copy-Move forgery. A copy-move forgery is performed by copying a region in an image and pasting it on another region in the same image, mostly after some form of post-processing like rotation, scaling, blurring, noise addition, JPEG compression etc. Two types of copy-move forgery detection techniques exist in literature. They are the Block based methods and Key-point based methods. Both the methods have their own advantages and limitations. This paper presents a survey on the recent developments in block based methods.

Study and Analysis of Copy-Move Forgery Detection in Digital Image: A Review

2016

In today's digital age, Digital image forgery becomes a common information falsification trend. This is generally done due to the largely available contemporary editing software and superior digital cameras. Authenticity of images becomes a more imperative issue while transferring data from one place to another place. Trustworthiness of photograph has a significant role in many areas-forensic investigation, criminal investigation, surveillance system, intelligent system, medical imaging and Journalism. Digital Image forensics finds the authenticity of the images. Different techniques are used to create forgery in the digital image. More regular type of digital image forgery is copy move forgery in which a part of an image itself is one copied and pasted into another location of the same image to conceal or alter the meaning. Post processing operations like resizing, blurring, rotation, JPEG compression etc has been done which makes digital image forgery detection difficult and hence an efficient approach is needed to detect the forgery into digital images. Copy Move forgery detection technique is grouped into two methods: Block based and Key Point based. In this paper, we have presented the various block based copy move forgery detection techniques. Image forensics is a fast growing research field and promises a convincing improvement in forgery detection.

Survey on Keypoint Based Copy-move Forgery Detection Methods on Image

Procedia Computer Science, 2016

One of the problem in image forensics is to check the authenticity of image. This can be very important task when images are used as an evidence which cause change in judgment like, for example in a court of law. Image is forged by using different techniques but in that most common technique is copy-move forgery. Copy-move forgery is created by copying the region from a particular image and pasting that region on same image to mislead the user. This type of forgery is done using availability of new sophisticated software and applications. This type of forgery is also done in video. In this paper we survey on different keypoint based copy-move forgery detection methods with different parameters.

A Methodological Review on Copy-Move Forgery Detection for Image Forensics

International Journal of Digital Crime and Forensics, 2014

Copy-Move forgery is the very prevalent form of image tampering. The powerful image processing tools available freely helps even the naive to tamper with images. A copy-move forgery is performed by copying a region in an image and pasting it in the same image most probably after applying some form of post-processing on the region like rotation, blurring, scaling, double JPEG compression etc. This makes it difficult to develop one common technique to detect copy-move forgery. As a result a considerable number of methods have been developed in view to detect different forms of copy-move forgeries. Those techniques can be classified generally as block based techniques and key-point based techniques. This paper presents an extensive survey on the very recent methods developed for copy-move forgery detection.

STUDY OF VARIOUS COPY MOVE FORGERY ATTACK DETECTION TECHNIQUES IN DIGITAL IMAGES

In today’s era of digital technology, security becomes a prominent issue while transferring data from one place to another place. A large amount of data is passed in form of digital images in various areas like military, security agencies, secured networks etc. With the advancement in technology & editing tools like Photoshop, Corel Draw and other software tools, it is very easy to tamper the images. Image forensics determines the authenticity of the images. Image tampering (manipulation) is also called as image forgery. Copy move forgery is more critical in which one part of the image is copied and pasted into another location of the same image to hide details. It can be a crucial task where images are used as evidence like court, medical department etc. Detection of forgery can be difficult if forger has applied some post processing operations like resizing, filtering, rotation, JPEG compression etc. It is seen that image forgery can results into various security issues and hence an efficient system is required to detect the forgery into images. In this paper, we have discussed the various copy move forgery detection techniques which includes Block based & Key Point based techniques

Copy move Forgery Detection Approaches: A Survey

ADBU Journal of Engineering Technology (AJET), 2015

Copy-move forgery detection is one of the most popular image forgery technique in which a part of a digital image is copied and pasted to another part in the same image with the intension to make an object “disappear” from the image by covering it with a small block copied from another part of the same image. Hence, the main task of copy-move forgery detection is to detect image areas that are same or almost similar within an image. These method in general use two approaches namely key-point based and block based. This paper provides a review of copy move forgery detection on various techniques. Keywords: Copy move forgery, Lexicographical Sorting, Digital Image Forgery, Duplicated Region.

Copy-Move Image Forgery Detection a Review

International Journal of Image, Graphics and Signal Processing, 2016

Due to the availability of various image processing tools forgery over an image can be performed very easily but very difficult to identify. In copy-move forgery, a segment is copied from the original image and pasted at some other location on the same image to hide significant objects of image or to bring additional information which is originally not present in image. Nowadays, this forgery technique is drawing researcher"s attention. Till now many solutions are presented by researchers to detect such type of forgery in images. Several post-processing operations like rotation, alteration in intensity, noise addition, filtering and blurring can be applied over copy-moved segment which makes detection of forgery very difficult. Copy-move forgery detection is mainly based on finding similarity present in an image and establish a relationship between genuine image parts and pasted portion of the image. This paper is centralized towards providing survey to forgery detection techniques based on different block-based methods. In block-based methods image is divided in blocks of fixed dimension and further features are extracted corresponding to each block of image. Forged blocks are identified utilizing the similarity present between feature vectors.

Copy Move Forgery Detection on Digital Images

International Journal of Computer Applications, 2014

In today's scenario forging of the Digital images has become a common phenomena. The availability of low cost manipulation software also boost to this practice. The foremost practice of manipulating the digital images employed by the most forgerer is the copy move forgery. Copy move forgery is basically concerned with concealing or duplicating one region in an image by pasting certain portions of the same image on it. Numerous Algorithms are proposed to detect copy move forgery in digital images. In this paper an enhanced way to detect copy move forgery is proposed. It is analyzed that block based methods are secured against noise and JPEG compression where as feature based methods are robust to the rotation and scaling operations .The proposed approach use both block based method and feature based method to increase the accuracy rate of forgery detection. The Proposed method employed DCT and SIFT to extract features from image and matching those collected features to detect forgery on image and also perform the localization of the Forged Regions in the Digital Image.

Techniques of Copy Move Forgery Image Detection -Review

— Copy Move forgery is common type of image forgery. A part of image is replaced (copied and pasted in the same image) with another part from the same image. The purpose behind this kind of forgery is may be to create duplication or to hide some particular detail of the image. Using some image editing tools someone can easily tamper the image. This results into loss of image authenticity or image integrity. This paper discusses on different methods used for detection of image forgery. A considerable number of different algorithms have been proposed focusing on different types of post processed copies. Here the aim is to discuss on different copy-move forgery detection algorithms.
