On Moment Generating Function of Generalized Order Statistics from Erlang-Truncated Exponential Distribution

In this paper explicit expressions and some recurrence relations are derived for marginal and joint moment generating functions of generalized order statistics from Erlang-truncated exponential distribution. The results for k-th record values and order statistics are deduced from the relations derived. Further, a characterizing result of this distribution on using the conditional expectation of function of generalized order statistics is discussed.

Lower Generalized Order Statistics of Generalized Exponential Distribution

In this paper we consider three parameter generalized exponential distribution. Exact expressions and some recurrence relations for single and product moments of lower generalized order statistics are derived. Further the results are deduced for moments of order statistics and lower records and characterization of this distribution has been considered on using the conditional moment of the lower generalized order statistics.

Exact Moments of Lower Generalized Order Statistics from Exponentiated Weibull Distribution and Its Characterization

The concept of lower generalized order statistics was given by . Later introduced it as dual generalized order statistics to enables a common approach to descending ordered random variables like reversed ordered order statistics, lower k records and lower Pfeifer records. With this definition we shall give explicit expressions for single and product moments of lower generalized order statistics from exponentiated Weibull distribution. Further, some of its important deductions and particular cases are discussed and a characterizing result of exponentiated Weibull distribution have been obtained using conditional moments of lower generalized order statistics.

Recurrence Relations for Moment Generating Functions of Generalized Order Statistics Based on Doubly Truncated Class of Distributions

In this paper, we derived recurrence relations for joint moment generating functions of nonadjacent generalized order statistics (GOS) of random samples drawn from doubly truncated class of continuous distributions. Recurrence relations for joint moments of nonadjacent GOS (ordinary order statistics (OOS) and k-upper records (k-RVs) as special cases) are obtained. Single and product moment generating functions (moments) of nonadjacent GOS are derived. Doubly truncated new modified Weibull (Weibull, Extreme-value, exponential and Rayleigh), three Burr type XII (Lomax) and inverse Weibull distributions, among others, arise as special cases of this doubly truncated class. Two applications are introduced, the first is the characterizations for members of the class based on recurrence relations for moments of GOS, OOS and k-RVs. As the second application we found Tables of single and product moments of OOS from doubly truncated Lomax distribution.

In this paper some distributional properties of the generalized order statistics from two parameter exponential distribution are given. The minimum variance linear unbiased estimators of the parameters and an important characterization of the exponential distribution are presented.

RECURRENCE RELATIONS FOR SINGLE AND PRODUCT MOMENTS OF GENERALIZED ORDER STATISTICS FROM DOUBLY TRUNCATED WEIBULL DISTRIBUTION

Some recurrence relations for moments of generalized order statistics are obtained by Kamps (1995), Cramer and Kamps (2000), Kamps and Cramer (2001) Pawlas and Szynal (2001a, b), Athar and Islam (2004) among others. We have established recurrence relations for single and product moments of generalized order statistics ) (gos from doubly truncated Weibull distribution which includes relations for order statistics, − k th record values, sequential order statistics and order statistics with non-integral sample size.
