Semiclassical Quantization of the Helium Atom
1993
We report on recent investigations of the classical and semiclassical prop-erties of the helium atom. We show that regular as well as chaotic classical motion of the electrons exists. Semiclassically, both types of motion re-quire a separate treatment. Stability ...
Autoionization Resonances in the Simultaneous Excitation-Ionization of Helium
2001
The effect of autoionizing states on excitation-ionization processes has been investigated experimentally by observation of the electron impact ionization process leading to He + (2p) with the excitation energy region in helium corresponding to doubly excitated states above the second ionization threshold. Also, the process arising from the decay of the doubly excited `parity unfavoured' (2p2)3P state of helium, is studied.
