An Analysis of the Tourism in Nepal Trend of Tourist Arrivals

Tourism is the travel of people from one place to another; whether it is within their own country or to other countries. It is naturally a human character. Attraction is the most causative element of tourism. Various natural and cultural heritages of Nepal, its diverse topography, varied climate, its diverse flora and fauna, different shrines and temples, jungle safari and trekking attract tourists in Nepal. This study uses the data of the Nepal tourism statistics 2012published by Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation. The Rana ruler isolated Nepal from external influences for a hundred and four years. During that period, Nepal was a ‘forbidden land’ for foreigners. Tourism in Nepal was promoted after the establishment of democracy in 1951. Tourists’ influx shows a steady trend in different periods in Nepal. The average length of stay of tourist is not so long. Prospects of tourism in Nepalese economy
This article examines some of the tourism indicators and the contribution of tourism to the Nepalese economy. The number of tourists' inflow through bus and air services and their percentages are discussed. Since 1985 to 2016 the contribution of tourism sector indicators such as the percentage of total foreign exchange earnings and its share in GDP, average expenditure per visitor and average expenditure per visitor per day are discussed with annual data for the period 20001-2015/16. Further, the duration of tourist's stay an annual growth rate of tourist, and percentage change of foreign exchange earnings in the yearly basis are discussed. The data on the number of tourist arrival, their duration of stay and the growth rate in percentage, from 1985 to 2016 and the contribution of the tourism sector to the national economy is presented from 2000/01. The significance is tested using a t-test. Further, this articles examines the prospects, and review of the literature, review of the tourism sector in the periodic plan, and some problems facing the tourism sector and some suggestion for the development of tourism sector. Nepal still is unable to recover its structures damaged by the earthquake of 2015, which has affected the tourist arrival in the country. Furthermore, the article describes the prospects for the tourism industry in Nepal with reference to its biodiversity and natural beauty.
Tourism Strategy of Nepalese Government And Tourist's Purpose of Visit in Nepal

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the tourism strategy of Nepalese government and attempts to examine the prospects and potentiality of tourism in Nepal. The main aim of this work is to focus the purpose of visitors in the country, their mode of arrival, period of stay and development of hotel industry. Furthermore, this study traces holiday pleasure trips as well as mountaineering and trekking has been the dominant part of a tourist arrival in the country from the beginnings. Consequently, Nepalese government needs to prepare a strategy that's why visitors from other purpose also increase into Nepal. Besides, we find that tourism has promotional strength for the Nepalese economy that has been seen through many ways in this paper.

Welcoming two million tourists in 2020, is itself a challenge and the challenge from another side is a great opportunity for Nepalese tourism development. Only tourism can transform the nation because other sector of economy requires extensive capital and skillful human resource. Nepal cannot compete with India in Agricultural Production and with China in other industrial productions. Nation's investment in Agriculture and Industries are in high risks. At this crucial juncture of time Nepal government has announced visit Nepal 2020, which could be a milestone of Nepalese Economic Development. To analyze the challenges and opportunities to welcome 2 million tourists in 2020 the study has been designed. Tourism is a social phenomenon that promotes the movement of visitors to a region or destination in the world with certain natural or artificial features aimed to leisure and rest. Methodologically, it is a qualitative descriptive analysis of available secondary information on Nepalese tourism industry and academia. The method analyzes entire facts qualitatively and interprets the meaning of tourism information. The tourism industry's viability is based on its natural and cultural environment. The environment encompasses air, land, water, art, history, architect, festivals, and hospitability of people. Mountain Tourism and Tourism Policy of Nepal
Pedestaled on secondary data, the key objective of this paper is to make a retrospective assessment of tourism policy and sustainable mountain tourism development efforts in Nepal. The sustainable development of mountain tourism relies on the government's plans and policies and the efficient coordination between stakeholders. But the tourism policies have not been able to adequately address mountain tourism, and this has led to unbalanced growth of tourism sector. Despite the implementation of new Tourism Policy in 2008, adequate focus on mountain tourism is still missing. There is a lacuna of adequate driving force in tourism policy and it has failed to address vital areas of mountain tourism. Hence, there is an instant need of specific and separate mountain tourism policy encompassing integrated approach (abiding federal structure and local participation in planning and management) hence making mountain tourism sustainable, responsible and sensitive-ecologically and culturally.
A Study on Seasonal Variation of Tourist Arrival in Nepal

Seasonality is one of the most important factors in the tourism industry in Nepal. Economically, it can have many negative influences as a destination, but at the same time it may give a time for improvement of services provided by host community as well as it may recover to the service providers from the stress of the peak season. This paper highlights the pattern of seasonal variation of tourist arrival in Nepal at different time on the monthly and quarterly basis. It is found that the seasonal variation is the maximum in autumn (128.801) and minimum in summer (81.857). Similarly it is the maximum in October (157.27) and minimum in June (68.68).This paper also tries to present annual increase of number of tourists that is 37,089 in number per year. This study expects that the findings of this paper may help planners and decision makers for formulating tourism policies and programs of the nation.

The research article explored the general perspective of mountain tourism in Nepal, trying to pursue its abundant natural beauty, cultural heritage, and exciting adventure opportunities. The primary objective of the study is to delve into the analysis of tourist flow over the years, revealing both positive and negative trends marked by periods of growth, decline, and subsequent recovery. The article explores the potential of mountain tourism in Nepal, shedding light on the associated challenges. These challenges encompass issues related to tourism regulation, equitable revenue distribution, and the imperative need for environmental conservation. Netnographic data, sourced from reputable secondary outlets such as the National Planning Commission, Tourism Board, Bureau of Statistics Nepal, as well as published journals and dissertations, were collected to comprehensively assess the past and current scenarios of tourism in Nepal. This information was then subjected to descriptive analysis using simple statistical tools and presented in tabular form. Within the discourse, the article conscientiously addresses sensitive issues linked to mountain tourism, including environmental degradation, the specter of over-tourism, cultural insensitivity, and the impact of infrastructure development. Recognizing the urgency of these concerns, the article emphasizes the necessity for embracing sustainability principles and implementing judicious management strategies to effectively mitigate these challenges.
