Evaluation of Short and Long Term Asphalt Absorption Based on Laboratory Tests Performed with Gabbro Aggregates

Abstract

This research investigates the time-dependence phenomenon of asphalt absorption and the effect of asphalt content. It considers both short-term absorption that corresponds to activities prior to the compaction (storage, transportation and placing) and long-term absorption that happens for some months after pavement construction.
