The article accompanies some narratives of residents of the peripheral neighborhood, known as Tamarindo, in the city of Sobral. They are consanguineous relatives, ascendants of young people involved with groups in conflicts with the law, as well as in territory dispute with rival groups. From these oral sources, the article reflects on how they talk about the model of territorial occupation in the Tamarindo neighborhood, by young people from the area and neighboring regions. Reflections think about territory, identity and conflicts. The bodies of young people are involved in the recorded discourses of their families, based on an identity construction produced and reproduced within spatialities, understood as opposites in the neighborhood.
