Latest advancements in tractors engineering have allowed farmers to increase productivity, and simultaneously to reduce operator’s hazards. However, little attention has been given to farmers’ behaviour and attitude toward the adoption of technological innovations concerning agricultural tractors. The study explores farmers’ behaviours on agricultural tractors current and future technological trajectories. A main case study concerning Italy is analyzed. Results show three different behaviours of farmers concerning tractors’ technological innovations. These adopters’ profiles would help developing new technologies that satisfy, more and more, farmers’ needs and expectations, speeding up the adoption process, enhancing agricultural tractors’ efficacy and efficiency.

Adoption of Precision Farming Tools: The Case of Italian Farmers

The process of adopting innovation, especially with regard to precision farming (PF), is inherently complex and social, and influenced by producers, change agents, social norms and organizational pressure. An empirical analysis was conducted among Italian farmers to measure the drivers and clarify “bottlenecks” in the adoption of agricultural innovation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the socio-structural and complexity factors that affect the probability to adopt innovations and the determinants that drive an individual’s decisions. Preliminary results found high levels of adoption among younger farmers, those that had a high level of education, those with high intensity of information, with large farm sizes, and high labor intensity. Attitude of Farmers towards Information and Communication Technology (Ict) Tools

Agriculture sector is one among the foremost important sector in India which might be benefited with the utility of ICTs. Therein regards, extensive use of information technologies got to be promoted to farm level for transfer of technologies. The main target of the study was on the attitude of farmers towards information and communication technology tools in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh. Interview schedule was used for data collection from the farmers and appropriate statistical tools were used to analyze the collected data. Proportionate random sampling was used in the selection of one hundred and twenty (120) farmers as the sample of the study. The outcomes confirmed that the majority (73.34%) of farmers had medium level of attitude towards ICT tools followed by high (15.00%) and remaining (11.66%) of the farmers had low level of attitude towards ICT tools.
