This article is a synthesis of the investigation called “The (school) violence in question. A study in public secondary schools in the city of La Plata”, presented by the first author and directed by the second, to apply for the title of Doctor of Educational Sciences, National University of La Plata, Argentina, year 2019.From the information contained therein (collected and analyzed between 2011 and 2018), this time we will try to take up and expand some diagnostic revisions in order to enrich the state of the art. Following this objective and, from a qualitative approach, three sources of information will be used: state documents, previous investigations and testimonies provided by a series of key informants: students, teachers, managers and support staff belonging to three high schools in the city before referenced.As we will see throughout the article, the issue of the –wrong called– “school violence” is marked by a series of preconceptions and indications tending to criminaliza...
