Features of French Employers’ Discourse (original) (raw)
Mots, 2003
Abstract
This article is a lexicometrical analysis applied to a corpus of speeches (both oral and written) delivered by top executives of the fifteen biggest French companies. Besides dominant, though not exclusive, financial and commercial themes, the analysis brings to the fore a somewhat significant present tense-related subjectivity which expresses itself through a heavily axiologised discourse.
