In this paper showing the connections between geometry and architecture with what appears to be an obvious example from various styles, architectural works which are also derived from basic geometric figures.The aim is to research the age old geometrical principles applied in Indian architecture. Deriving ancient principles of interrelationship between 'Geometry & Architecture' in three major branches of Indian architecture, particularly, Hindu Architecture and Islamic Architecture. Historically, architecture was part of mathematics, and in many periods of the past, the two disciplines were indistinguishable. In the ancient world, mathematicians were architects, whose constructions-The tombs, mosques, temples, pyramids and ziggurats. Geometry was the study of shapes and shapes were determined by numbers.Here geometry becomes the guiding principle. Geometric principles such as those used in triangles (the ratio between base and height, how they are related to the area of the triangle) have been used in many ancient architectural constructions.

This paper is basically about how Geometry is used in Islamic Architecture specifically in the region of Sub-Continent. So I would like to take a start from one can say that perfection encompasses both the beauty (Kamal) and majesty (Jalal) represented in Jamal (Perfection). Here, I will mention about the relationship of Scared Geometry and Islamic Architecture with the help of examples that how they merge to show the mightiness of Allah Almighty. Further I will relate the concept of oneness of Allah Almighty with the help of the Masters Work in Sub-Continent. The purpose of this paper is to identify theoretical spirations and practical tools in the making of and representation of Islamic architectural space. it also analyzes geometric principles and design features of traditional Islamic patterns, involving geometric proportion analysis. It also describes the syntheses of Islamic patterns from the perspectives of Islamic cosmology, philosophy, metaphysics, and mathematics.
Mathematics and Architecture: Importance of Geometry
Intentionally or unintentionally, from ages, architects, builders and construction experts have used mathematics as a very basic yet important tool for the soulful purpose of design, execution and finalization of building projects. In the history, architects were mathematicians and also some mathematicians were architect too. Vitruvius was a very well-known architect as well as famous mathematician. Mathematical readings of Pythagoras were later used in building proportions. Well known worker and user of golden ratio Leonardo Da Vinci along with many achievements was an architect too. The approach of this research paper is to come up with findings on importance of mathematics in architecture, as in geometry, from very important site analysis to final design of elevation or façade. Aim of the whole research is to come up with mathematical functions related to mensuration of building construction and Architectural Engineering. This paper is an initial part of the same research.
Mathematics In Sacred Architecture
The term "Composition" deals with the arrangement and alignment of ideas to emphasize and balance an entity. Architectural Composition has further to deal with elaborate design. Understanding the Composition in architecture begins with space development and their relations. Composition of spaces and functions is called design. Looking into the compositions, geometry plays the major role in it. The essential study of forms, shapes and spaces, and their order along with their algebra contributes to the process of composition and designing of any element of architecture. Geometry is one of the main features in configuration of architecture. Mathematics, is one of the oldest subjects which followsgeometry in different manner and its application. Mathematical Connotations and Arithmetic Progression gives the different form generation when it relates to the Architecture. Architectural composition with its geometrical configuration gives the proportionate system of the Structure. The Proportional Relations Systems of Islamic Architecture

The problem of the current research has been represented by the lack of studies on the foundations of forming the proportional relations in the Islamic architecture. The objective of the study was defined in an attempt to reveal the concepts and the items of the system of proportional relations in the Islamic architecture. The proportion in architecture either derived from the mathematical matrix or other disciplines are always concerned on the spatial system through measurement and form’s relations. The obtained conclusions show the authenticity of the system of proportional relations in the Islamic architecture which was based on two factors, the aesthetic sense related to the symbolic aesthetic systems and the acquired knowledge related to the mathematical geometrical systems of Muslims. The relationship between geometry and architectural design are described and discussed along some examples. Geometry is the fundamental science of forms and their order. Geometric figures, forms and transformations build the material of architectural design. In the history of architecture geometric rules based on the ideas of proportions and symmetries formed fixed tools for architectural design. Proportions were analyzed in nature and found as general aesthetic categories across nature and art. Therefore proportions such as the golden section were seen as the power to create harmony in architecture as well as in art and music. According Pythagoras there were general principles for harmony. Indian textual evidences support the hypothesis of an extant geometrical knowledge at least since the Later Vedic days, what with the references to bricks, brick making, structural activities in the Brahmana texts transcending into focussed technical discourse in the sulba texts, like the Baudhayana, Katyayana and Apastamba Sulba Sutras The voice of the sulbas project another problematic, which shall be briefly discussed in the main paper. Suffice it to say here that the marked religious orientation of the building activity stressed in the sulbas delineates the scope of geometrical and architectural knowledge within the religious sphere. This probably leads to a lopsided view of the real world of building technology of the context we are discussing. Yet, the sulba texts are full of details of techniques involved in the construction of yajna citi, which, when clearly analysed, are seen to be based on extremely precise, perfect geometrical formulations.

Orientation and proportion in Indian traditional domestic architecture

From ancient times, the traditional architectural practice 'Vastusastra' is rigidly followed and practised in many parts of the Indian sub-continent and has a unique position in Indian architecture. In Indian traditional domestic architecture, a hand calculator table and an index number system are used for finding the proportion and orientation of the building. The mathematical and logical background of this traditional practice, which is not known at present, is investigated in this paper. The study reveals that there is a strong and complex mathematical background behind this traditional architectural practice.
