Some remarks on the genus Astragalus sect. Incani in Iran (original) (raw)
Two new species of Astragalus L. sect. Incani DC. (Fabaceae) from the Zanjan province (Iran)
Adansonia, 2012
Astragalus dilutuloides Maassoumi, F.Ghahrem. & Bagheri, sp. nov. and Astragalus montis-queydari F.Ghahrem., Maassoumi & Bagheri, sp. nov. are described as new species. Morphological evidence (bifurcated trichome, acaulescence, free stipules, bibracteolate, non-inflated calyx in fruit) supports taxonomic placement of the new taxa in Astragalus L. sect. Incani DC. These are endemic to the Zanjan province of western Iran. Astragalus dilutuloides is close to A. dilutulus Maassoumi, but it differs with having longer habit, longer stipules, longer leaves, in leaves indumentum, longer peduncle, and color of bract and bracteoles hairs. Astragalus montis-queydari is close to A. xiphidiopsis Bornm., but it differs from the first new species with having longer stipules, fewer leaflets, shorter peduncle, and inflorescence with fewer flowers (4-10 vs 10-20).
Important notes on Astragalus subgenus Tragacantha Bunge in Iran
Iranian Journal of Botany, 2000
Based on 3000 herbarium specimens a taxonomic study of Astragalus subgenus Tagacantha has been done. In this research 10 new taxa including: A. glaucopsiformis, A. jamzadae, A. khatamsazae, A. membranostipulus, A. montosus, A. neo-mozaffarianii, A. passargadensis, A. peymanii, A. polystachys, A. sumarensis are described as new from Iran. Moreover due to the intensive collection from all Iranian territory, particulary in western border of the country 6 new records including:A. karabaghensis Bunge,A. vedicus Takht.,A. yueksekovae Matthews, A. gummifer Labill., A. turkmenorum (Boriss.) Boriss. and A. zoharyi Eig with the short notes are presented from Iran. Uncertain position of the few taxa are discussed.
A contribution to Astragalus sect. Incani (Fabaceae) in Iran
Willdenowia, 2005
BioOne Complete (complete.BioOne.org) is a full-text database of 200 subscribed and open-access titles in the biological, ecological, and environmental sciences published by nonprofit societies, associations, museums, institutions, and presses.
Zanjan province in NW Iran, with diverse climatic and topographic conditions includes a considerable part of Astragalus gene pool. From 2007 through 2009, a collection as complete as possible was made in this area by the authors. As a results of this study, we added 41 species to the already 75 known species for this province. Furthermore, 9 new species were described for the area from which one new species (Astragalus fausicola Podlech ex Bagheri, Maassoumi & F. Ghahrem. from sect. Incani DC.) is introduced.

Two new species and a new record of the genus Astragalus (Fabaceae) from NE Iran
Nova Biologica Reperta, 2018
During the study on the specimens of Astragalus sect. Ammodendron in the herbarium of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUMH), based on the last and most recent sources, two new species, i.e. A. microfoliolatus sp. nova and A. rashed-mohasseli sp. nova were found and described. Morphological evidence confirmed that the belonging of these taxa to Astragalus sect. Ammodendron. The most important differences between A. microfoliolatus and its closest relatives are leaflets with very small size and glabrescent legume. Also, the main distinctive characters ofA. rashed-mohasseli are the presence of hairs on the dorsal side of vexillum, oblong legume and short rachis. Hairy vexillum has been obseverd for the first time in this section. In addition, A. aiwadzhi is recorded as a new species for the flora of Iran. Taxonomic descriptions, illustrations and distribution maps are provided to expedite identification.
Astragalus sect. Astragalus (Fabaceae) in Iran
Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society, 2005
Astragalus rahiminejadii , a new species endemic to Iran, is described and illustrated. This species, which belongs to section Astragalus , is confined to the western part of Iran (Prov. Kermanshah) and is known only from a single population. Seed testa morphology as viewed under the scanning electron microscope is discussed and photomicrographs are provided. In addition, the geographical distribution and ecology of the species belonging to this section are discussed.
New Species and New Records of Asteraceae from Iran
Two new species, Lactuca birjandica and L. gilanica (Asteraceae) are described. In addition, a new record, Cichorium glandulosum Boiss. & Huet. is reported for Iran. Furthermore an interesting collection of Lactuca muralis L. from Gilan Forest in Iran is discussed for the first time. Taxonomic characters and illustrations are given for all species.
