Effect of Teaching Through Multimedia an Attitude , Interest and Achivement in Physics Among Higher Secondary School Students

2019

This study aimed to find out the effect of teaching through multimedia an attitude, interest and achievement in physics among higher secondary school students. Experimental method was used. 40 students studying XI standard were selected as sample for the study. Achievement Test was used as the tool for the study. Data was analysed by t-test. Results revealed that there is significant difference between pre-test and post-test performance for control group among higher secondary school students in their study habits, attitude and interest towards using multimedia technology in learning Physics of Tamil and English medium students.

Effects of the Online Interactive Learning Media on Student's Achievement and Interest in Physics

Universal Journal of Educational Research, 2020

The use of interactive media integrating digital media and a structured digital environment make student interact with each other for learning purpose. This research developed interactive learning media for enhancing the learning interest and learning achievement of eleventh-grade students. The software used for developing media was Lectora Inspire. This research used the mix method approach. The development model was DDD-E. Subject experts, media experts, and teachers validated the product using a questionnaire containing relevant factors. This instrument used a likert scale from 1 (Absolutely Disagree) to 5 (Absolutely Agree). The teacher applied the valid learning media in the three classes consisting of 108 students to find out the impact on learning interest and learning achievement. Measurement of learning outcomes using multiple choice questions in the cognitive domain. Analysis of learning interest used a questionnaire with a likert scale and used to analyze was MANOVA. As a limitation in this research that interactive media is only accessible for students who have a personal password. Impacts measured have not been on various learning performance indicators, the sequence and variety of types of media. The value of this research is the integration of various kinds of media becomes an opportunity for the media.

Need Analysis of Interactive Multimedia Based on Scientific Literacy in Physics Learning

Physics Learning and Education

The 21st century requires the world of education to adjust the development of science and technology in improving the quality of education. However, there are several factors that occur in the field. First factor, the use of technology is not optimal as a medium for learning physics. The second factor, physics learning has not been implemented as needed. The third factor, the low scientific literacy of students. Following up on this, technology-based learning media such as interactive multimedia containing scientific literacy are needed. The first step in creating the media is a needs analysis. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on interactive multimedia needs analysis containing scientific literacy in physics subjects at Padang City Public High School. This type of research is descriptive research. The population of this research is all Padang City Public High School. The sampling technique is stratified random sampling and lottery techniques. So that the samples w...

Influence of Interactive Multimedia Courseware: a Case Study among the Students of Physical Science of Class VIII

Bhatter College Journal of Multidisciplinary Studies, 2012

The present Study deals with the influence of Interactive Multimedia Courseware on the achievement in Physical Science of Class-VIII Students. For this purpose a computer assisted multimedia courseware was developed with the help of Adobe Flash and Bangla Word on a single unit of Physical Science Curriculum of class-VIII under WBBSE (Bengali medium). Then we selected two equivalent groups of class-VIII students (experimental and control). One group was exposed to the multimedia courseware while the others are not. The performance of the both groups was then compared statistically (using t-test and ANOVA) after administering the self prepared standardized achievement test. The observed t value is 16.068 is higher than the critical value at 1% level of significance (df=49). ANOVA test also provide significant difference between experimental and control group. So statistically it can be concluded that computer assisted multimedia courseware facilitates students learning in Physical Science better than the traditional chalk and talk method.

A Preliminary Validation Study of Developing An Interactive Multimedia Modules in Physics Learning

Abstract—Some of skills required in the 21st century are critical thinking, Information Communication Technology (ICT) literacy, and socio cultural interaction. Physics learning should be directed to develop these aspects. This paper describes a preliminary validation study of developing an interactive multimedia module that covering the 21st century skill. The method of this research is Research & Development. The subjects of this developing study were 10th grade student of senior high school in Padang, Indonesia. The data presented are the result of the define, designe, and valiadtion phase of pruduct. Based on questionnaire analysis show that students interested in learning physics using ICT reached 76.7%, but the fact that teacher have not been using teaching material based on ICT, Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is not maximized, the students' critical thinking skills are only 69.3% and the learning outcomes of students yet fully achieve the minimum completeness criteria. Based on the analysis of questionnaires and observation, generally seen that not maximal adherence to the learning process that impact on the learning outcomes of students. One way that can resolve these problems is using interactive multimedia modules in PBL model aided games. The validation of design show that interactive multimedia modules is valid. Impact of Multimedia in Teaching of Science

International Journal of Advance Research and Innovative Ideas in Education, 2017

Best teaching strategies are necessary for making teaching smooth and effective. During the lesson design, an effective teacher selects a particular teaching strategy or set of strategies in order to make his/her teaching effective and create interest of students in learning. There are various teaching strategies for different teaching subjects. There are also strategies that are more specific for a particular subject area. This was an experimental study which analyzed the impact on achievement in science subject of class 9 th students after teaching them by conventional method of teaching of science and multimedia teaching of science. The findings of the study shows that use of multimedia proved to be better than conventional direct method in teaching of Science. The teaching by multimedia approach was effective therefore not a single student was found to be under extremely low level of achievement in Science so it is obvious that multimedia approach is an effective method in teaching of Science. Implementing science lessons with use of multimedia may lead towards making a difference, which produce in students a long-term memories about the concept.
