IMPACT OF IMPLEMENTATION OF GREEN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT PRACTICE IN PRODUCTION INDUSTRY: A REVIEW
Green Supply Chain management means environment friendly supply chain management in industries. There are different motivators for companies to switch to \'green\' in their supply chain. Ordinary supply chain management involves several extraction and exploitation of the natural resources. But now a day, the environmental sustainability has been an important issue to business practice. Since the early 1990\'s, manufacturers have been faced with pressure to address Environmental Management (EM) in their supply chains. Adding the \'green\' concept to the \'supply chain\' concept adds a new paradigm where the supply chain will have a direct relation to the environment. The green supply chain also includes reduction of usage of raw materials, recycling, reuse and the substitution of materials etc. The practice of monitoring of environment friendly purchasing, manufacturing, supplying, marketing, delivering of the final product to the consumer are also parts of green supply chain management.
GREEN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT- A REVIEW
With the development of society and the gradual improvement of economic construction in the world, environmental situation is becoming severe. The theory and practice of green supply chain management in relation to sustainable development are paid more attention to by many enterprises and researchers. In recent years, climate changes such as global warming have been a topic that has attracted a lot of interest world over. Such changes have necessitated the need to identify the causes and solutions to these climatic changes. In an effort to mitigate these changes, legislations and environmental requirements have been put forward by governments and environmental agencies. The demand for environmentally friendly products has increased over the years and so is the shifting of loyalty of consumers .Also, the ever increasing costs of energy and inputs has forced business to find new ways to reduce energy use in order to reduce costs.

This paper emphasizes upon the application of Supply Chain Management and adding the `Green ` component to it so as to stress upon the need of environment friendly systems. The growing importance of GSCM is driven mainly by the escalating deterioration of environment. The waste and emissions caused by the supply chain have become one of the main sources of serious environmental problems including global warming and acid rain. One of the key aspects to green supply chains is to improve both economic and environmental performance simultaneously throughout the chains by establishing long-term buyer–supplier relationships. Efforts have been made by the authors to study the supply chain of the systems with the focus on its optimization and implementation.

The generations hand over the resources and the environment of the earth to its future generation for utilization and the harnessing of the resources but over the years the under the pretext of development and the greed to earn more and in lesser time has made the mankind destroy the beautiful earth. However, efforts can be made following the Green Supply Chain Management approach so that that the production and the service activities go on as usual with least damage to the environment .In this paper the authors have made efforts to understand Green Supply Chain Management and the approach to be adopted to implement it with an aim of reducing the adverse effect of the production processes used by the manufacturing industries. The effort is also made to emphasize upon the long term benefits of a Green Manufacturing process and also the important role which the industries can play in preventing further damage to the environment.
STUDY OF GREEN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT AND OPERATION STRATEGIC IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
iaeme, 2013
This is an exploratory research study that aims at serving as a primer on key concepts related to the development, status, practices and other constructs of green supply chain management (GSCM). It involves adopting an environmentally-conscious mindset in conducting company level, strategic, tactical and operational processes and is closely related to the broader concept of sustainability. Since the field still in its developing stage, an extensive literature review was done on the discipline and underlying topics that are nurturing this emerging academic and practice field. Supply chain management, sustainability and environmental operational initiatives. Several concrete approaches used in investigation GSCM initiatives are introduce as well as the role of organizational factors in the adoption of environmental innovations, based on a survey. The study advanced the proposition that organizational capabilities matter significantly in the adoption of GSCM practices and reveals importance background information pertaining the new posture on the relationship among supply chain management, social responsibility and environmental consciousness. A key implication is that companies have to embrace the importance of working collaboratively with their partners to improve the social responsibility performance of the supply chain, causing a "green multiplier effect" throughout the supply chain. The study also concludes that there is a clear research need to establish the potential link among GSCM initiatives, competitiveness and economic performance, to provide a stimulus for companies to green their supply chains.
A Review of Green Supply Chain Management as a Need for Company’s Continuous Improvement
Proceedings of the International Conference on Natural Resources and Technology, 2019
Nowadays, there is an increasing need to pay attention to environmentally sound choices in all fields. The competitive market that has taken place in the millennial era requires companies to have strategic plans, critical attitudes and attention to the role of the environment. The company's business strategy must be revised, for example supply chain activities. Supply Chain activities focus to achieve a greener environmental. The focus of improvement is on minimizing the environmental damage. Minimization of environmental impacts is carried out from starting the process of industry until the finishing step. Activities carried out include green design, saving resources, reducing hazardous materials and recycling or reusing products. With helping of Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) integrating action will activates all of the manufacturing process in an industry more safe and healthy and safe for environment and human life. Many factors that become the drivers of GSCM. Based on reports from companies in various countries of the world, those who have implemented GSCM have proven that there is an increase in company profits.
Impact of Green Supply Chain Management on the Overall Performance of Industries
Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) has appeared as an environmental innovation in current scenario which integrates environmental concerns into supply chain management. Implementation of GSCM has gained popularity in manufacturing industries as a result increased the overall performance, Wasted has been prevented by applying some SCM technique which has therefore decreased overall time of product, saved worker time, reduced transportation cost by following shortest route for inventory and distribution of final product to the customer, Focused on recycling process. AN ERA OF CHANGING THE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION BY GREEN SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Green supply chain management is defined as the process of using environmentally friendly inputs and transforming these inputs into outputs that can be reclaimed and re-used at the end of their life cycle thus, creating a sustainable supply chain. GSCM is one of the recent innovations for the enhancement of capabilities of Supply Chain Management. The purpose of this paper is to carry out a theoretical review of Green supply chain management (GSCM). The assessment involved 144 research articles published in 48 selected journals between 1998 and 2013. The methodology of empirical research involved selection and classification of 144 research articles in GSCM. A systematic classification and a critical analysis is carried out so as to identify research gaps in content of GSCM, as well as to recommend directions for future research. It is concluded from the analysis of the results that research in GSCM is increasing at a faster rate than ever; with theory building more in focus than verification. Furthermore, a new taxonomy was proposed on the basis of content and research methodology utilised. Based on this taxonomy, significant trends were observed and some unique inferences were drawn, apart from identifying the directions for future research. There have been a couple of literature reviews in GSCM but none of them focused exclusively on research methodology in GSCM. Also the sample size with respect to the number of papers (144 papers), as well as number of journals (48 journals), is larger than ever considered for literature review in GSCM. The papers spans a longer time period of 16 years (1998-2013).
