The article is based on the experience of creating a gender sensitive environment at Sumy State University in order to integrate the gender aspect into policies, programmes and projects related to learning activities and research, as well as other areas of the university's life. This experience is analyzed on the example of the implementation of the "Family friendly university" initiative and the practice of conducting a partial gender audit of the university's activities. The relevance of this direction is determined by the fact that, despite the existence of legislative bases and state programmes on gender equality, there is a lack of initiatives in Ukraine, which really contribute to it. There is a lack of practical tools that would help identify weaknesses in achieving gender equality and could also be used to make a real positive move towards overcoming this gender gap. As an effective tool for introducing a gender sensitive environment, we also consider gender audit, which is both a tool and a process based on participatory methodology and aimed at organizing training on gender sensitivity, both at the individual level and at the level of the structural units and administration of the university. We are confident that the procedures of gender audit allow to bring the whole complex of the organizational and communication mechanisms inside the university to the new level of efficiency and significantly expand the circle of people who are conscious and interested in being involved in the promotion of gender approaches. Gender audit can be considered as a truly universal and effective means of promoting the gender equality policy, as it allows for a complex implementation of a number of important tasks: monitoring, evaluation, communication, implementation of gender sensitive work methods, education, etc. In the future, it is expected that, through the acquaired experience, knowledge and successful gender audit practices, the HEIs will increase their efforts to create equal opportunities. As an achievement, it will be possible to assess the dissemination of the "Family friendly university" initiative as an opportunity to combine study/work in a high school with family responsibilities. It is this model that serves as a marker of gender-sensitive policies, social protection and targeting of services for vulnerable groupsstudents-mothers with young children and other members of the team having family responsibilities.

Equal Opportunities and Gender
The aim of our analysis is to create a theoretical approach to the status of women; to popularise the Hungarian trends; to extend the results of a local research. The research focuses on the districts of Hegyhát and Komló. We use two types of empirical research. Firstly, we analyse the data of the Hungarian National Assembly from the point of view of the genders (quantitative research). Secondly, on the basis of focus groups and individual interviews (conducted with women occupying senior positions) we will try to compare the similar traits of women’s lives, to highlight the local peculiarities and to find out the opinion of the interviewees about the women’s status in Hungary today.

Gender Equality and the Rights of Women and Girls

A gendered rights and life cycle approach Gender discrimination is of central importance to human rights because it affects more than half of the human race: without women's rights there is therefore no full recognition of human rights. The essence of a gender approach is the recognition of the structural inequalities between men and women, boys and girls, and the disparities in their enjoyment of rights. This implies implementation of policies to address such disparities. Gender discrimination is not the only form of discrimination, inequality and denial of rights faced by women and girls. Gender interfaces with other forms such as discrimination based on ethnicity, culture, class, tribe, caste and religion. In order to adequately address the rights and development needs of women, the interface of gender with other forms of discrimination needs to be addressed. For example, women's right to income remains theoretical if investment in their communities is minimal because of racial, cultural or political discrimination. Differences such as those of class, race, economic and political power between populations and between women and girls themselves will influence both the definition of the problems to be addressed and the design of strategies to address them, even if the primary objective is to address gender issues. Groups of women who face multiple forms of discrimination require responses that recognize the interrelated transformations necessary for the effective exercise of their rights.
GENDER ANALYSIS REPORT USAID/UKRAINE
This Gender Analysis Report depended on the support of the United States Agency for International Development for Ukraine (USAID/Ukraine) and specifically the guidance of Stella Roudenko of the Office of Program Coordination and Strategy. The consultants who carried out this analysis would like to extend sincere thanks to Ms. Roudenko for her dedication in organizing meetings with USAID, providing materials and generally offering advice and remaining closely engaged with the project from start to finish. The staff of USAID/Ukraine also deserves special mention for their willingness to meet with the consultants and the serious attention they gave to discussing gender issues within the Mission portfolio and in the country as a whole. gender justice: A fight for equality of women
From history of Gender Justice to Women Empowerment. The awareness of Gender Justice has been faced by every in all around the globe. The traces from history about this issue can be seen. Today the scenario is not much change but continuous practices are there to fill the gap. The terms "sex" and "gender" are often used interchangeably in everyday life, but in sociological literature they are frequently differentiated. The term "sex" is applied to differences between men and women that are based on female or male attributes. The term "gender" is applied to the cultural aspects of male and female roles. In other words, the behaviour, personality and other social attributes that are expected of males and females become the basis of masculine and feminine roles. Sexuality and the different capacities of men and women in the reproductive process are particularly likely to be thought of as giving "natural" reasons for gender divisions in society. One of the fundamental obstacles in promoting gender equality in development remains at the community level where attitudinal biases often prevent women from realising their rights. The Government has done little to take on board these obstacles, apart from occasional and irregular campaigns around single issues like dowry, girl child education, amniocentesis and so on. Police education campaigns are restricted to occasional posters and TV spots, but are not consistent or backed up by strong and clear action by the State. Their impact remains less than effective, particularly, since there is little action taken against advertising or campaigns that are gender discriminatory.
