Multi Carrier Modulation Schemes for Future Wireless Networks-A Review (original) (raw)

Multicarrier modulation is need of today’s Wireless communication networks. Various multicarrier modulation schemes have been developed in the past few years orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), Filter bank multicarrier modulation (FBMC) and Universal filtered multicarrier (UFMC) are some of them. These techniques provide numerous advantages like multiple user scheduling, robustness against multipath propagation, high quality of service etc. One of the major drawbacks of MCM is higher PAPR and a number of techniques such as PTS, SLM, TR, Companding, Clipping and Filtering have been developed for reduction of PAPR. In this paper we have tried to gather the contribution made by various researchers for PAPR reduction in Multi Carrier Modulation.
