Egypt of the 20th century has been an important center for world-renowned reciters in the field of Quran recitation. These famous reciters became models for the recitation of the Qur'an by reaching the muslims of the world mostly by broadcasting devices such as radio and cassettes. Egyptian reciters such as Abdüssamed, Husarî, Minşâvî and Mustafa İsmâil are the most well-known names of this reciter chain, which uses the reciting style called mujawwad in the recitation of the Qur'an. Against the way of reading mujawwad, there is a murattal course that differs from mujawwad with its melodic simplicity, narrow expression area and relatively fast tempo. There has not been any scientific research to date on the tempo features of these reciting styles, which are related to the temporal aspect of reciting. The starting point of our research is based on the idea that the most important element of the text to be dealt with is the syllable when it comes to an analysis on recitation styles. The short syllable in the CV pattern is a very important rhythm element that represents the "pulse" element in the recitation and on which the tempo of the recitation is built. For this reason, in our research, first of all, the CV unit time averages in the recitations to be analyzed and the corresponding CV-PM values will be calculated. In this study in which murattal recitation type is the subject, first of all, CV unit time averages and associated CV-PM values will be calculated. Then, the time averages of the long syllables in the CVV/CVC pattern and the short syllables in the CV pattern will be compared to each other and the temporal relationship between the long and short syllables will be revealed. The CV unit time average and metric properties of the recitations of the Surat al-Fatiha, which constitute the sample of the research, were determined by examining them with Praat phonetic analysis software. When the Egyptian reciters' recitings in murattal style are analyzed comparatively, it is seen that their temporal characteristics are very similar.
