Inefficient land use is continuing to occur in Indonesia. In East Kalimantan, especially in the Agricultural Development Zone, land utility is planned individually or by groups of local farmers. The method used in identification of suitable crops for their farmland is traditional way, based on their experience and their ancestor recommendation. It is important to formulate scientific method that can help to recommend suitable crops for specific land. Therefore it will also help to reduce inefficient use of land in Indonesia. This study introduces the concept of Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process (FAHP) in analytical study of land suitability, thus can help decision-makers to determine suitable crops for certain area. Using FAHP to determine the best crop from four alternatives that used in this study, the result obtained from this study has shown that Soybean is the most suitable crop for the farm that analyzed in this study, followed by Cassava in the second place.

Land evaluation analysis is a prerequisite to achieving optimum utilization of the available land resources. Lack of knowledge on best combination of factors that suit production of yields has contributed to the low production. The aim of this study was to determine the most suitable areas for agricultural uses. For that reasons, in order to determine land suitability classes of the study area, multi-criteria approach was used with linear combination technique and analytical hierarchy process by taking into consideration of some land and soil physico-chemical characteristic such as slope, texture, depth, derange, stoniness, erosion, pH, EC, CaCO3 and organic matter. These data and land mapping unites were taken from digital detailed soil map scaled as 1:5.000. In addition, in order to was produce land suitability map GIS was program used for the study area. This study was carried out at Mahmudiye, Karaamca, Yazılı, Çiçeközü, Orhaniye and Akbıyık villages in Yenişehir district of Bursa province. Total study area is 7059 ha. 6890 ha of total study area has been used as irrigated agriculture, dry farming agriculture, pasture while, 169 ha has been used for non-agricultural activities such as settlement, road water body etc. Average annual temperature and precipitation of the study area are 16.1 o C and 1039.5 mm, respectively. Finally after determination of land suitability distribution classes for the study area, it was found that 15.0% of the study area has highly (S1) and moderately (S2) while, 85% of the study area has marginally suitable and unsuitable coded as S3 and N. It was also determined some relation as compared results of linear combination technique with other hierarchy approaches such as Land Use Capability Classification and Suitability Class for Agricultural Use methods.

Hierarchical decision models are a general decision support methodology aimed at the classification or evaluation of options that accur in desion-making processes. Decision models are typically developed through the decomposition of complex decision problems into smaller and less comple subproblems. This paper presents an approach to the development and implementation of multicriteria decision model based on Analytical Hierarchy Process - AHP (Expert Choice, EC). Likewise, the AHP is used as a potential multicriteria decision making method for application in agriculture. In order to show the implementation of explained MCDA methods in real situation in agriculture, theapplication of AHP on a sample model farm is presented in the second part of the article.

Crop-land suitability analysis is a prerequisite to achieve optimum utilization of the available land resources for sustainable agricultural production. The Food and Agricultural Organization recommended a land suitability assessment approach for crops in terms of suitability ratings ranging from very highly suitable to unsuitable based on climatic and terrain data, soil properties and social-economic data. The aim of this study was to develop a GIS-based multi criteria evaluation technique to assess suitability areas for wheat cultivation in Mollaj Administrative Unit, Korça Municipality. Four suitability criteria including soil (pH-H2O, texture, soil depth, organic matter, Cationic exchange capacity), topography (slope) climate (rainfall) and social-economic (land use and land cover) were selected based on FAO framework and agronomist experts opinions. Weights indicating the relative importance of each criterion was determined using Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) in Idrisi Selva Software. The resulting weights were used to construct the suitability maps using ArcGIS software. The final output land suitability map for wheat cultivation was generated by overlaying these maps using Weighted overlay analysis in ArcGIS. The results of this research showed that in the study area, 58.6% (1487 ha) of the land is highly suitable, 31.95% (811 ha) is moderately suitable and 9.45% (240 ha) is not suitable for wheat cultivation. The results can be used by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Albania to advice the local farmers on the suitable areas for wheat cultivation. The model of present research work can be applied to determine land evaluation for other agricultural crops.

Poland is characterized by a number of factors which adversely affect the agricultural economy, so this paper will aim to present the possibilities of using multi-criteria decision-making methods of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) in the analysis of the spatial structure of rural areas. AHP is a widely used tool for making complex decisions based on a large number of criteria, such as, for example, land consolidation works on fragmented agricultural land. The first step is to formulate the decision-making process, then the assessment criteria and the solution variants guided by expert knowledge are determined. Entikong is a sub-districts located in the borderline, northern end of Sanggau Regency directly adjacent to Sarawak, Malaysia. The growth of Entikong as a center of growth does not provide a downward trickle effect, but it creates an excessive resources exploitation effect to the surrounding area (backwash effect). The land use within an area should be adjusted to its function. For that reason, this research will determine the priority and rank of land use by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). The ranking is based on four aspects of criteria; social, economic, institutional, and environmental. The hierarchy model is sorted into alternatives, criteria, and sub-criteria. The criteria and subcriteria are compared, as well as the value of consistency. After data processing and analyzing with Expert Choice software version 11, the researcher found that the main priority of land use in Entikong is for plantation, which is 29,7%. Valuations of Building Plots Using the Ahp Method

Predicting the value of real estate is a complex endeavor due to the abundance of subjective criteria. Objective consideration of the value-affecting criteria in real estate and regulation of decision support systems will enable the acquisition of more accurate results. In this study, analytic hierarchy process (AHP), a type of multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA), is used to reproduce coefficients that serve as the basis for real estate valuation. A region in the Selcuklu district of Konya, Turkey was used to test the model created by AHP. Weighted criteria describing areas subjected to purchase/sale were generated by the AHP method and then validated. Additionally, a valuation model was created by the multiple regression analysis (MRA) method for comparison and performance analyses. Weighted values were transformed from AHP points and acquired from the MRA method and then joined with geographic information systems (GIS). Value maps of the study area and purchase/sale values were generated according to these newly created models. The performance comparison and value maps revealed that the AHP method is more successful than the MRA method. This study addressed the complexity of criteria issue by using the original hierarchical structure of AHP and thus contributes to the world economy by enabling the generation of more accurate estimations.
